Open Call - beta/proof-readers wanted for Alysmond fancomic
I am going to make another House of The Dragon fancomic, - this time not based on a pre-existing scene from the show, but made up entirely from my own original script. The plot revolves around Alys Rivers and Aemond Targaryen at Harrenhal.
The comic will be roughly 16 pages long.
A loose draft of the plot is as follows: A day after the seizing of Harrenhal, Aemond finds Alys near Vhagar, where he catches a glimpse of the mysteries surrounding her in their conversations.
Before I fulfill the project, I am in need of beta-readers to have a look at my script.
What the task involves:
Checking if I remain true to the plot of HOTD and F&B (it is therefore a perk if you've read Fire and Blood) and haven't made any factual errors.
Checking if I have written everyone involved true to character.
Checking spelling/grammar in the characters' dialogue (English is my second laguage).
Taking a critical view of my script, and the flow of the story, to see overall if the story makes sense and is easy to read.
Optional: comment or bring suggestions to how I can elevate the story or the flow of the reading experience*. An example could be to suggest a different angle to draw a certain frame in, or suggest an improvement in dialogue. Practically stuff that makes you think "It would be even cooler, if..."
Optional: suggestions to the comic's title.
*NOTE: I am already pretty much set on the tone and themes of the story as is, so suggestions for changes should mainly revolve around details that don't steer away from the current plot and its themes. I won't suddenly draw a scene with Aemond flying on dragonback just for the hell of it, I.E.
The comic is not going to be a full-blown romance, but more a simmering, slow burn kind-of-thing that could suggest the beginning of Alys' and Aemond's relationship. It should more be considered my own suggestion to how the characters could be depicted to interact with one another ahead of Season 3's release. Don't expect any kisses.
I will sort through volunteers, email the script as either OpenOffice, Word or PDF-file depending on preference. Then I will let the beta-reader(s) come back to me with written feedback. I will let the chosen volunteers know ahead of time before I send out the script.
If whoever reads the script, finds a thumbnail I've sketched confusing or hard to understand, feel free to write back to me so I can elaborate!
I plan on starting the production of the comic ASAP. The work will take me a few months to complete as I have other projects at hand to work on along the way. I am aiming towards having it finished and done by the beginning of 2026.
Anyone who helps me out will of course be credited and thanked in the final post as I will put it up on Tumblr, Instagram and Facebook.
