"it  slipped  your  mind  that  you  had  a  boyfriend  for  two  years?"  he  repeats  her  words,  hoping  it  will  make  her  realise  how  absurd  she  sounds.  "how  is  it  not  selfish  to  hide  that  from  me?  you're  hurting  people."  not  just  him,  but  the  boyfriend  whom  minjun  had  unknowingly  been  hurting.  "would  you  have  even  told  me  if  i  hadn't  asked?"  perhaps  her  plan  was  to  keep  him  in  the  dark  indefinitely  —  well,  tough  luck.  his  glare  wavers  only  slightly  when  she  mentions  a  potential  breakup,  but  for  all  he  knows,  it  could  be  another  lie  to  keep  him  around  like  the  fool  he's  been.

he  knows  that  it  is  for  the  best  if  they  end  things  once  and  for  all,  but  he  cannot  help  but  fall  victim  to  his  concern  for  the  other.  he  doesn't  stop  caring  about  kenji  just  because  they  had  a  terrible  fallout.  it's  still  the  person  that  he  loved  —  maybe  still  loves  —  someone  that  lingers  on  his  mind  more  often  than  he  should.  "you  don't  look  fine."  the  string  of  drunken  texts  is  telltale  of  the  worrisome  state  kenji  is  in.  his  gaze  lingers  on  kenji's  features,  finding  it  effortless  to  see  through  the  unconvincing  lie  his  ex  has  told.  "come  on,  i'll  get  you  home."  every  moment  spent  in  proximity  with  his  ex  is  dangerous  —  a  lure  for  them  to  fall  back  on  their  toxic  habits  —  but  he  cannot  just  leave  him  here.

He could evade her steady eyes, however. "What would you like me to say, Mei Mei?" His own gaze faltered, avoiding hers as if anticipating her readiness to depart at any moment. “I’m not in the mood to entertain right now…”

his eyes were stained red with tears, he was just a little too drunk, "you said i could call you, you said i could call you when i needed it and you didn't fucking answer! i called and called and you didn't answer!"

he scans the crowd of people in the shop, and thankfully, realizes the person who supposedly had his drink hadn't left yet. stranger's coffee in hand, he approaches. “ i think you might've got my drink instead- ” he cranes his neck to see what kind of drink he may of had, and sure enough, it was an iced coffee. “ -our orders are different, i guess they weren't paying as much attention. ”
