WSOR 4493 Repair, Horicon, WI. JUL 1992, by Danial Via Flickr: George Kalow, a man of many hats at the Wisconsin & Southern, is doing some plow repair to the WSOR 4493 after it split a switch and derailed in Markesan. After a little grinding, welding and more grinding, George will have the GP9 ready for us to take out onto the Cambria sub for another day of serving customers.

Pleistocene hunter and woolly mammoth sculptures by artist Curt Walker, at the Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center in Horicon, Wisconsin. The sculptures are life-sized, and are formed from thousands of welded rebar pieces.Β

Fog clings to the wetlands as the sun rises above Horicon National Wildlife Refuge in Wisconsin. The refuge includes more than 15,000 acres of marsh habitat including dense stands of cattail, bulrushes, burreed, sedges and smartweeds β all great food for ducks and other migrating birds. Itβs an amazing place for bird-watching as well as photography, fishing, hunting and exploring the effigy mounds left behind by Native Americans over 1,000 years ago.
