I’ve been having a hard time getting out of my head the past two days. My grandfather had a heart attack and passed away yesterday after being taken off of life support.

Last night was the worst, I think I went through every stage of grief from anger to regret in a span of two hours.

This morning I woke up exhausted and with a short fuse. I just wanted the world to stop for a bit and I wanted to be held and left alone at the same time.

I needed something to focus my emotions on. Something that would allow me to get in my head but just shut off the spiraling.

I haven’t had much time to paint lately so I decided to put on some headphones and paint.

I have found nothing more therapeutic, aside from powerlifting, than painting. For a couple hours I was alone with my thoughts and able to sort out all of the emotions that have been floating around. Every brush stroke was a release of energy and soothed the ache of loss.

Once I took the head phones off I was no longer a short fuse, bitchy yes but not a short fuse.

Anyway this is what I was able to get done in that time. Finished the sword, tartan, tools, leathers, pants and some touch ups on the skin.
