* cracks knuckles * choosing not to write a problematic aspect of a character doesn’t wash your hands of writing a problematic character . writing ‘happy family’ aus for characters that are child abusers is ugly. yes, i am looking at endeavor and overhaul specifically when i say this . if your muse is a misogynist and you choose to write them as being more attracted to men and then proceed to excuse their misogyny that way , then u get docked double points because you’re blaming their shitty behavior on the gays (tm). anyway, it irks me when ppl who write problematic / villainous characters claim they understand what they’re doing but then proceed to ignore that aspect of their character (which, let’s be honest, is almost always for shipping purposes) and it just ...woobifies them. if you’re gonna do that, don’t write that character imo.
