Hook and Prowl being similar is always SO funny to me in the sense of constructiprowl because everyone else in the Gestalt is like
"Oh fuck there's two of them now"
It makes me laugh sm not just how similar they are but the way that the traits they have in common are all things that make them kind of insufferable LMAO?? Like they're both fussy, prickly and uptight, workaholics, bad at social interactions and very aware of their own intelligence and skills being far above average. They're also (particularly for IDW1 Prowl bc not all Prowls are like this) both short tempered and a bit arrogant with huge egos, and think they're better than everyone else sksjdksjdkbs
Like lemme just put these bits from their dreamwave/marvel and tfwiki bios next to each other bc I think there's some really interesting similarities here:
"He looks upon the rest of the Decepticons almost as peasants, beneath him to a degree. Though full of himself, Hook is a master craftsman, having truly earned his insufferable ego. [...] Although Megatron acknowledges Hook's incredible skill, he gets impatient with the time it takes Hook to finish his work. I also think that Prowl struggles to get along with most other autobots for very similar reasons Hook struggles to get along with most other decepticons, and they both don't understand why other people feel that way about them bc in their minds they're just doing things the correct way. Ofc the other structies love them both though.... what they're seeing in their minds while they're fondly watching Hook and Prowl go around pissing everyone else off dnsbdbs
