Decided to cut our time in Stuttgart short and do an overnight trip to Reutlingen primarily to see Lichtenstein castle but it did turn out to be an intetesting trip. Got to the train station, train cancelled so had to get a replacement bus to Reutlingen. Then had to catch a local bus to Honau which was fine but there was abdolutely nothing there, not even a cafe just the schloss on the top of a hill and no way we were walking up there. So after a wander we got the bus back to Reutlingen and found this was a really interesting little town/city, again significantly damaged in WW2 having been a centre for bomb making but it was lovely being in a non touristy German place. So it was food and a wander and we even found a surprising Guiness World record location with the narrowest street in the world!! So we have now seen the steepest road in the world and the narrowest! The hotel was also a delightful surprise being the station hotel with quirky rooms and excellent breakfast. Staff were friendly and tried their best with english given how poor our German is! Its a place worth a visit.
