The Three Beans have been busy planting some beans of their own today - both inside and out! They actually had a go at planting beans , peas, tomatoes ๐
, sunflowers ๐ปand some wild flower bulbs too! We hope that the flowers will help to attract more bees ๐, butterflies ๐ฆ and other mini beasts to our garden over the summer months. Planting the fruits and vegetables was a fantastic opportunity, not just to get messy, playing in the soil (though, obviously, they did!...especially when it came to watering everything! ๐) but, to learn about where the food we eat comes from and how it grows too. Weโve been talking about food groups and healthy eating at home and so this activity tied in nicely with that. We planted some of the seeds straight into a grow bag outside and others into small pots to start off indoors. We also had a go at growing some peas and beans in a jar, so that they can fully observe what happens as the roots grow and they start to sprout. Weโve also been discussing life-cycles, since itโs the start of Spring, and our live butterfly garden has also arrived from @insectlore! So, now we will be able to fully observe the life cycle of an insect/butterfly ๐ฆ and of a bean/flowering plant ๐ฑ too! I donโt know whoโs more excited by all of this, them or me?! ๐ They definitely enjoy the hands-on approach to learning though, thatโs for sure! #threebeansplaytime #3beansplaytime #homelearning #homelearningfun #lifecycles #lifecycleofaplant #sunflowers #tomatoes #peas #beans #wildflowers #gardeningforkids #foodgroups #healthyeating #handsonlearning https://www.instagram.com/p/B-x1zXFHju8/?igshid=10d2xfyu1bfa
