Nathanael laid on his bed, or rather laid on the bed he had come to view as his. He had actually forgotten how his own bed looked or if it even existed anymore. At first, he had tried to count the days, but he had soon lost track of them and no one had come to get him, though he did remember his mum. But it wasn’t his mother his mind ventured to at the moment. 

The headache he had experience from the last examination had just disappeared and he knew that meant it was soon time for a new round of tests. The growling sound from his stomach also announced that it might be time for a meal,or at least he hoped so. The meals never seemed to come regularly, or maybe it just seemed that way for him. Time was tricky in here.

When the door opened to his room, Nat sat up and looked at the assistant entering. The man announced that a new doctor wished to see him. With a tired sigh, he stood up, turning his back towards the assistant, knowing the procedure by now. He felt the cold metal from the security handcuffs around his wrists and then he was led out in the hallway. Why they cuffed his hands, he would never understand since he already had a tracker chip in the back of his neck.

They stopped outside one of the identical doors and as it opened, Nat were pushed inside. He looked at the man already occupying the space. So this was his new ‘scientist’. The young man swallowed, making no effort to get closer to the man.

The Doctor chuckled halfway under his breath; his normal, half-shy laugh he did because he was programmed to be so… Reserved.

“Your help may prove indisposable. I certainly don’t want to go around calling people ‘darling’. Who knows how many of my patients may get the wrong idea?”
