EARLY LIFE

In his early youth, Hollowkit was born into a loving family - supportive parents, with the plus of being an only-child. Hollowkit was named “Hollow-” for the location he was born in, as his mother went into labor early, and sheltered in a hollow log. Hollowkit was a respectful, kind, loving kitten, with a little bit of a shy streak about him, which is seen in how he absolutely refused to speak to Breezekit, his childhood crush. 

During apprenticeship, it began very clear that he was a prodigy. Not only was Hollowpaw compassionate and dedicated, but he was an excellent learner, and grasped new concepts very quickly. He adored learning, and excelled in hunting and combat; still, he remained humble, and always took time out of his day to help his fellow apprentices, who might have been struggling with a technique or move. His parents were always supportive of him, and he adored his mentor. Life was good. 

WARRIOR

As a warrior, Hollowflame’s life took a large turn. He began to lose his skill, and would mess up on simple hunting patrols, and would lack in sparring matches. No one knows what caused this, but it lead to Hollowflame’s downfall... 

Two moons later, Hollowflame had pushed himself harder and harder every day - often coming home with scrapes and wounds covering his body, from where he had been training. His skills were back and better than ever, but at the cost of his... Personality, per-say. He grew bitter, angry, and isolated, pushing away everyone who tried to help him, and letting his tenancies to mock himself and put himself down, for not being good enough, fester. 

Then, the greencough outbreak came. His parents passed during this, leaving him not mournful, but terrified. He feared for his own mortality - he feared dying, and being forgotten, leading to him fading away. He became obsessed with it, often times having a breakdown over it... 

In these recent moons, Hollowflame has gotten worse - delusioned, even, but we’ll get to that... 

DEPUTY

As a deputy, Hollowflame has... shown himself to be quite two-faced. For example(s):

Hollowflame abuses his apprentice verbally, mentally, and physically. He terrifies her into staying quiet about his methods, and has threatened her life, and her siblings’ lives. | Hollowflame often brags about his apprentice, saying that she’s a wonderful learner, but resents him for being “a little harsh” with her. He writes her complaints off as belly-aching, and makes it seem like he’s a wonderful mentor towards her, and genuinely cares for her.

Hollowflame appears to resent Starclan, and has openly mocked them before. | Hollowflame has “regained” faith in Starclan, and uses it to get closer to Breezesky.

Hollowflame is only mates with Breezesky for a legacy - kits, to keep his memory going, long after he finally passes. He has no love for her, and has no real desire for kits, aside for the legacy part. | Hollowflame claims to love Breezesky more than anything, and finds her the most “beautiful” she-cat he has ever seen. 

Hollowflame set the forest on fire, with a mysterious cat from the kittypet place, in order to fake a sign from Starclan that he should be deputy. It works. | Hollowflame claims to believe it was a sign from Starclan, and accepts his role.

MOTIVES

I like to believe that Hollowflame is motivated by his sheer terror over death. He lusts for a false sense of Godhood - a chance at nine lives, getting him as close to immortality as cats can get - and a legacy, to keep him from fading away when he dies. He has no real desire to lead the clan, aside from having control over others, to ensure that his plans don’t fail. 

In addition, his plan for ensuring his legacy... Well, in his mind; we all remember the villains that plagued our world, but who can name the heroes who vanquished them?
