Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour. 1 cups granulated sugar. cup unsweetened cocoa powder. 1 tsp baking powder. 1 tsp baking soda. 1 tsp salt. 2 large eggs. 1 cup whole milk. cup vegetable oil. 2 tsp pure vanilla extract. 1 cup boiling water. cup semisweet chocolate chips. cup crushed peppermint candies.
Instructions: Set the oven temperature to 175C 350F. Butter and dust two 9-inch circular cake pans. Mix together flour, sugar, baking soda, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Add the milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and vegetable oil. Beat for two minutes at a medium speed. After the batter is thoroughly mixed, stir in the boiling water. There will be a thin batter; this is expected. Stir in crushed peppermint candies and semisweet chocolate chips. Fill the cake pans with the batter, spreading it out evenly. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, in a preheated oven. After taking the cakes out of the oven, allow them to cool in the pans for ten minutes before moving them to a wire rack to finish cooling.
