Hoggetowne Medieval Faire has gone virtual this year, so how about a throwback to last year's activities to celebrate! Jan2020 was very busy for me...two corsets, including the most expensive one I've made to date, a "blacksmith"-style outfit for my mom, and the epic Dragon Wagon project for my niece was completed then as well! I also made a fancy dress for my favorite little customer, but for this post I'm focusing on the pieces I made specifically for #hoggetownemedievalfaire
Thinking about it, Ren fest was my first real introduction to costuming/cosplay. I remember I tried building a sorceress costume years and years ago, but I could never achieve the look I wanted because I was relying entirely on what I could buy, which wasn't much as a teenager! 😂
I like to daydream how different things would have turned out had a started sewing back then, oh how much farther would I be in my skills now!
Alas, I'm just glad I finally gave in to the sewing bug, even if it took an extra decade to get there. Proof positive that just because you don't realize your dreams as a teenager, doesn't mean you can't realize them later!
I look forward to next year, when hopefully it'll be safe enough to go back to #hoggetowne for real. 💜
