Ok so we now have a high definition version of the OR/AS Hoenn map, and there a few things on there that caught my attention, other than the giant black cloud of death above Lilycove that everyone else is talking about.
First, Mauville City now appears to be one big enclosed building, which I guess does fit the modernised electric theme
There are also some big lava pools west of Mount Chimney, above Meteor Falls, which are not there in the original - whether they are significant or just extra decoration now they have better technology I don't know
Next, this random rock just below Mossdeep that I'm pretty sure was just there to break up the endless ocean of Hoenn before?
It now seems to have an entrance.
Finally, and most intriguingly to me, we have this little area in the far south east, which a lot of people looking at the low res map thought looked out of place.
Rather than just a fancier version of the boundary rocks that keep you on course, it seems to have a relatively sizable area you can get out and walk on, as well as an enclosed section you presumably have to dive to get to. And there was definitely nothing like this in that area in R/S/E
And slightly futher west there is another similar area I dont think was there before, unless its representing the Sky Pillar or Mirage Island
Honestly I'm just so psyched to see what they've done with Hoenn. November can't come too soon
