In a lot of (professionals) settings, the prestige does a lot of work. The hypnotee expects the hypnotist to be an expert and anticipates the amazing skilful techniques. This is different when you hypnotize friends or family that know you way differently. In recreational hypnosis, (hypno)friends just have fun with hypnosis and do experiments to nerd out or have a comfortable, fun, and silly session. The power of rapport plays a massive role here, where the connection and experience hypnofriends have with each other can be used to your advantage.
