seven perfect children in a line for a family portrait each with a path laid out ahead of them, each with a destiny to complete. the tremblay mother saw all, adjusting sleeves on sweaters and quietly critiquing wand grip as they studied. and so she saw, of course she saw, as aurelia slowly became disenchanted with the perfect life of beauxbatons, of france, of their family. and it was she who brought up the idea of attending hogwarts college up during a family dinner, suggesting a slight change to the plan: aurelia’s diplomatic future would not be limited to the country. 

having it framed as a benefit to the family gained her father’s tentative approval, though he constantly reminded them that they needed to continue to behave as would be appropriate — no straying any further from the path than necessary. studying to be a journalist was already a stretch, hence their recruitment to the knights of walpurgis. what was more traditional and appropriate than the original group, one that lasted beyond the life of a single man? 

regardless of a pretty successful transition to life in england over the previous summer, it has admittedly just begun and they find themselves growing anxious being so far from home. regardless they are determined to make their mother proud. .

eddie was once the youngest out of five abbott children - well, the baby of the family status only lasted for two years until his little ( and only ) sister, kitty was born. contrary to his mum’s expectations, eddie quite liked being an older brother and having someone to boss around for once ( not that kitty would listen - but eddie enjoyed the illusion of older brother privilege ). 

he had a happy childhood, full of joy, pranks and countless shenanigans that would often result in an injury. but hey, he was having the time of his life - eddie always was. he was set on living life to the fullest and making sure to drag others along with him.

he watched his brothers leave for hogwarts one by one each year, waiting with anticipation at the platform. his time came, eventually. surprisingly enough, the sorting hat had a hard time choosing between gryffindor or ravenclaw, but it went with the former, seemingly the better fit. eddie fit right in among his housemates, quick to make friends.

eddie abbott’s time at hogwarts mostly consisted of parties, doing dumb things with his mates and spending more time in detention than class. the type of person to study 2 hours before his exams after he’d spent the night partying. for someone who does everything at the very last minute ( because there’s time and he can handle it and 100 other excuses ), eddie did get away with a lot of things, to everyone’s surprise.

eddie was always easy to get along with, that is for the people who didn’t mind keeping up with his pace or feeling like they’re talking to brick wall during arguments. but besides that he was easy-going, chill, up for anything and always down to help out a buddy in need, even if he’d known them for a day. 

he did mature as graduation time approached and started taking himself more seriously - though, he was still eddie and you couldn’t take the impulsiveness and the bad jokes out of him. he chose to continue his education and for eddie, there were two future career options - a hit wizard or an auror. he liked to be right in the middle of the action - eddie just couldn’t imagine himself sitting behind a desk all day or using his brain. 

while the abbotts were purebloods, blood purity was never something taught or endorsed in their family. they hadn’t broke enough rules to be considered blood traitors just yet and they didn’t qualify to be on the sacred twenty-eight list. eddie had made friends with both muggleborns, people who were loudly outspoken against blood purity and people from the sacred twenty-eight who’d later support the death eaters or join the knights of walpurgis ( though unbeknownst to eddie ). he didn’t have a solid stance on the matter, not until tensions began to rise.

what was a turning point, though TW SIBLING DEATH was jacob’s death. some of the abbotts were unhappy with jacob and chris being a part of the order ; it was far too dangerous. eddie thought it was cool, not realizing how dangerous it truly was. not until his brother’s life was taken. it broke him. he’s still not used to there being one less person at the dinner table, to not being able to include jacob in his pranks, to set off fireworks in his room in the middle of the night. marcus refuses to talk about jacob and sometimes, eddie refuses as well. he feels guilty; but he just doesn’t know how to cope with his brother’s death in a healthy way. he doesn’t know how to come to terms with that loss.. and he can’t talk about it. END OF TW

to everybody else, eddie’s fine. he doesn’t talk about his problems ( the real ones ), he rarely does, but now he’s shut off completely. in fact, he’s extra protective of his loved ones ( in his own special way ). eddie can’t bear the thought of losing someone else, again. he’s made the decision to side with the order too - not because he wants be in the middle of the action, but because he’s got an actual cause this time.

H I S T O R Y 

     The weird youngest child energy is strong with this one. Arthur has two older brothers. They were all close as children, though Arthur could always sense some sort of confusion around his obsession with any and everything muggle from a young age. His childhood was one filled with constant happiness and warmth, unfortunately a rather rare occurence amongst the Sacred Twenty-Eight society he was raised in.

When he arrived at Hogwarts, the sorting hat barely had to graze his head before announcing him a Gryffindor. He flourished in school, the extroverted side of his personality finally clawing through to the surface. God bless any muggleborn student who was able to sit through Arthur constantly picking at their brain. While Arthur was a good student, he was no stranger to detention. He was the first to stand up for any of his friends when his fellow pureblood bullies came around. Many bat-bogey hex victims were sent to the infirmary at Arthur’s hands. While usually behavior like this would be any headmaster’s worst nightmare, Ablus Dumbledore isn’t like every other headmaster. Arthur’s loyalties to Dumbledore run deep and were sprung from the times that the headmaster sided with Arthur that kept his record cleaner than it should have been.

While his parents had made it clear the blood status of whoever he eventually fell in love with didn’t matter, there must have been a bit of pride when he fell head over heels for a fellow Sacred Twenty-Eight member. Arthur and Molly. Even a stranger would know they were made for each other. They began to date while in school, and to no surprise to any of their friends, they stayed together after graduation, if not stronger than before. As the world around him began to fall into uncertainity with whispers of a war brewing, Molly and the love they shared remained constant. After almost eight years of dating, Arthur finally popped the question last year.

After graduation, Arthur started a job as a research assistant in the Ministry. While he enjoyed working with muggle artefacts all day long, he was never fully satisfied. It was hard to feel like he was making a difference while cataloging all day. It was around this time, his old school headmaster made a reappearence in Arthur’s life. Recieving an invite from Dumbledore personally to join the ranks of the Order of the Phoenix was certainly a daunting moment in Arthur’s life; but with the growing list of muggleborn murders or disapperances, Arthur was constantly worried that one of his friend’s names would end up on one of those lists. The decision, though daunting, was easy for Arthur to make.

 FAMILY/PERSONAL HISTORY

Frank’s family history is a bit muddled on his mother’s side. His mother was adopted when she was young, so not much of her side is very well known.  His father’s side has direct links to previous immigrants from Korea to England just a few generations ago. The beginning of their last name “Long” was adapted from their Korean last name “Lang”. Bottom was an unfortunate addition. His parents knew each other during their Hogwarts years but never really spoke until years after. They found each other through work and bonded over the way they viewed the wizarding world, which was much different than the prejudice they’d seen at school.

Frank was raised to see the world as full of opportunities but was also taught to be realistic as well, which meant the pressure was put on him at a very young age to be successful. His mother was a bit more no nonsense than his father, always scolding him for getting distracted and never being lenient when it came to his learning. His father was always the one to encourage his creative side and advocate for fun over stress. However if his mother knew of the times that his father influenced him to sketch or write or waste time in the greenhouse instead of study or read, she would have gone berserk. 

His mother was always a bit harsh on him in general while he was growing up. His loud and rather hilarious laugh was shushed time and time again, teaching him to stifle it into a smaller and ‘not as obnoxious’ sound. Her hand was never hesitant to smack him around the head or on the arm when he did something wrong, as well as a few quick under the breath comments. As a child he was always ‘too big’, yet when he began to grow to an awkward and lengthy stature, she began claiming he was ‘too stick-like.’. He always felt like he couldn’t win with her, that he would never be praised by her. When he smiled, she told him his teeth were crooked and when he cracked jokes she always shut them down, instead insisting that he learn to be quiet and respectful. He never understood where it was coming from, yet as he got older and the world became less technicolor, he understood more that she was trying, in her own way, to protect him.

 He continued to adore his parents and everything they had done for him right up until graduation. When he was in his fifth year, his parents surprisingly got pregnant with the first of the three girls, Felicity. This pregnancy caused his already money tight family to begin to feel the effects of being spread thin. They were able to manage, but expectations for Frank grew. Over breaks he worked bussing tables to have small savings “just in case”. But with the arrival of Fiona in his late seventh year, his parents had to decide to turn him out financially.

While he still loved his parents, he held resentment over their continuation to have kids while holding him responsible for some of the finance. He really grew angry when they asked him to leave after graduation so they could have room for the third baby on the way. 

He had to stay with a friend in this process, putting his auror training on hold. Frank felt ashamed having to crash, so he worked again bussing and serving tables almost every day in an attempt to save for his own place. He could only train a couple hours a week. Even these few hours filled up his schedule, so when Hogwarts college was founded he was relieved. Frank could have cried when he found out he was going to get at least some aid to attend. This way, he could complete his Auror training quicker, only had to work a few hours a week, and was able to focus his mind back to the Order and more important things at hand. Because of his delayed training, he only qualified to be a second year while the others he went to school with became third years, but he didn’t mind all that much. As long as he got to break the cycle he was in, he was happy enough.

PERSONALITY

Frank tends to be a bit more reserved than people his age. It all stems from his childhood and being taught to put all childlike behaviors aside, though a bit of it creeps out every once in a while. He’s prone to letting out his loud laughs at a sly joke in class or in a quiet library.

Also, he is very gullible and a bit of a worrywart, though he will deny this to the grave. From the stress of his little siblings being born and all the work he had to put in to help, worrying became a habit for him. He holds the weight of the world on his shoulders. He bottles everything up and is always biting his tongue for the benefit of others. It’s a bit of a problem for the kid because he’s always taking on his friend’s problems and never speaking about his own. In doing this, he tends to be quick-to-anger, but never in an aggressive way. Instead he’d rather shut down, releasing his anger privately when he has the time.

If Frank isn’t working on something for school or reading up on something he heard someone say, he’s writing. As a child Frank never stopped writing, which is luckily a habit he kept into his older years. Though Frank loves being an Auror, he can’t help but always wonder how he would have done as a journalist. His writings that he works on now are mainly just for fun, like reviews of muggle comics or stores that he frequents in diagon alley. And though hardly anyone reads them, he finds joy in it and often gets scolded a bit by his professors or mother for scribbling bits of his writings on his paperwork or drawing little comics in the margins of important documents. 

Overall, Frank is way better at dealing with stress than he is anything else. Though his emotions are a hang up for the boy, when he remembers to take the time to, Frank knows just how to put his mind at ease. In true Taurus fashion, being a bump on a log is one of Frank’s highest skills. Sitting back to smoke while kicking his feet up is where Frank is found during any free chance.

WANTED CONNECTIONS

smoking/hanging out buddies: these two don’t have to necessarily get along all the time, just when they want to get together to blow off some steam

close/best friends: when Frank got kicked out, he had to stay somewhere. Possibly a connection with someone who let him crash while he got his shit together? They both could help each other through their personal problems and be more real with each other than friends normally would?

journalist friend: maybe if someone is studying to be a journalist or is in the newspaper club and feels they would get along with Frank, they could persuade him to consider taking his love for writing more seriously

okay  so  here’s  what  you  need  to  understand  about  sirius: 

for  the  first  11  years  of  their  life,  their  identity  was  defined  by  their  family.  being  the  heir  to  a  pureblood  dynasty  came  with  a  lot  of  really  confining  expectations  !  they  were  moulded  to  be  the  perfect  pureblood  son.  though  obviously,  that  didn’t  last  lol

and  then  he  went  to  hogwarts,  and  he  met  james,  and  then  he  met  the  rest  of  the  marauders,  and  he  didn’t  want  to  be  that  perfect  pureblood  son  anymore

so  now  he  shaped  his  identity  around  being  the  opposite  of  that.  all  his  decisions  were  to  spite  his  family  and  show  how  little  he  cared  about  them.  he  was  like,  lowkey  super  self  destructive  as  an  act  of  rebellion.  getting  into  fights  and  smoking  cigarettes  and  getting  a  motorcycle  and  shit.  completely  did  not  really  think  much  about  their  future  because  some  part  of  them  didn’t  expect  to  get  there  ?

they  really  clung  to  this  identity  cause  it  felt  like.  wavering  would  come  off  as  doubt  or  weakness  to  his  family  and  their  ilk  ?  so  they  laughed  off  any  mistakes,  and  made  almost  a  performance  about  how  confident  and  happy  they  were  with  their  life

don’t  get  me  wrong  –  for  90%  of  the  time,  they  were  genuinely  confident  and  happy.  he  and  the  marauders  were  basically  on  top  of  the  world.  they  were  the  family  sirius  had  always  wanted  but  had  never  had.  they  were  popular,  and  charming,  and  treated  rules  as  mere  recommendations.  they  were  only  fifteen  and  became  animaguses,  and  created  a  comprehensive  magical  map  of  hogwarts.  how  do  you  get  better  than  that  ??

it  didn’t  really  matter  if  they  were  impulsive  or  short-sighted,  because  most  of  the  time,  if  something  went  wrong,  there  were  no  real  consequences.  they  could  just  brush  it  off  and  continue  blithely  through  life

a  major  wake  up  call  for  sirius  though  was  when  he  told  snape  to  go  to  the  whomping  willow  on  a  full  moon,  and  almost  got  snape  killed.  obviously  this  was  incredibly  upsetting  for  remus  and  the  rest  of  the  marauders,  and  at  first  sirius  was  unapologetic  and  refused  to  admit  he’d  done  anything  wrong

but  it  really  shook  them  to  have  their  friends  this  upset  with  them,  and  it  kinda  pulled  them  out  of  their  own  ass  ?  tbh  at  that  point  the  marauders  were  probably  the  only  ones  who  could  make  sirius  think  like,  oh  shit  maybe  i  was  in  the  wrong

so,  yk,  it’s  been  slow  going  since  then  but  they’re  basically  trying  to  figure  out  their  identity  when  it  isn’t  defined  by  their  family  (  whether  to  please  or  to  spite  them  )

when  he  moved  in  with  james  after  sixth  year  ended,  and  got  out  of  his  house  that  also  helped  a  lot  i  think,  to  be  out  of  that  toxic  environment

so  right  now  he’s  slowly  learning  that  self-preservation  and  thriving  is  actually  more  of  a  rebellion  than  self  destruction  is,  and  he’s  learning  to  admit  his  mistakes  and  heal  his  inner  child  and  all  that  boring  mature  stuff.  but  don’t  worry,  he  still  does  a  lot  of  fun  dumb  shit  !

at  hogwarts  college,  he  was  on  track  to  become  an  auror,  but  he  kinda  became  disillusioned  with  it  bc  he  doesn’t  really  trust  the  ministry.  partially  cause  he’s  fiercely  loyal  to  dumbledore  and  believes  the  lies  about  him  originated  from  someone  in  the  ministry.  he  also  thinks  hogwarts  college  is  totally  bs  because  he  wants  to  be  involved  and  fight  in  the  war  and  stuff

they  ended  up  being  on  track  to  become  a  translator  instead,  because  they  took  a  mermish  class  as  an  elective  and  found  out  they  actually  have  a  knack  for  different  languages

which  shouldn’t  really  be  a  surprise  really  lmao  given  how  much  they  love  to  talk

it’s  also  just  been  super  cool  cause  he’s  gotten  to  learn  about  different  species  like  trolls  and  mermaids  and  goblins  and  their  cultures

they  are  currently  unemployed  and  living  off  the  macdonald  family  fortune  in  the  wizarding  world.  mary  has  no  intentions  of  returning  to  america  since  her  mother  passed  away.  

before  the  war,  mary  was  a  big  supporter  of  the  order  of  the  phoenix  and  contemplated  joining  the  order  during  the  war,  but  ultimately  they  did  not.  

now,  mary  is  apart  of  the  banneret  and  does  not  trust  dumbledore  at  all.  they  are  very  happy  to  see  that  dumbledore  is  gone  and  is  hoping  that  the  old  man  does  not  return.
