"Bite risk," the notary says. Their eyebrows draw together slightly when Daniel gestures to Johnny's fettered thighs. They speed-skim the papers the retriever handed off to them. "Huh. Also a kick risk, apparently." Daniel can't help wry amusement. Yeah, Johnny Lawrence is a kick risk. True.

The look Johnny gives him at that very clearly gets across (to Daniel) exactly what Ugh, as if! would have sounded like if Alicia Silverstone had starred in a modern high school retelling of Beowulf instead. "No, of course," Daniel murmurs, the corners of his mouth starting to ache. "Stupid question." Obviously only a virgin who can't drive would allow himself to be transported via wheelchair, hobbled by chastity bondage or not.

Muzzle aside, Daniel has no trouble at all hearing what Johnny says: I'm gonna make you wish you were never born, LaRusso. Electric sparks of… something, not fear, zap tingling heat into Daniel's gut. Bring it on, he thinks, giddy with decades-old righteousness that has refused to go stale. He thinks, I'd like to see you try, and, Go ahead and strike first, buddy, and, I've been waiting for you.
