Hong Kong 721 Yuen Long Attack (terrorism)

What happened last year today in Hong Kong (21•07•2019) has left a permanent scar on our hearts. It’s the day when the reputation of the HK police is gone, entirely. The white shirt triad beat the citizens in the Yuen Long Station with weapons, indiscriminately, including the pregnant woman.

What’s crazier is, the emergency hotline (999) refused to pick up for any calls for help for 2 hours. It spent 39 mins for the police to arrive to the station when it is just a few minutes drive from the police station to the metro station.

What’s more ridiculous is, two policemen turned their back from the helpless citizens and pretended that they saw nothing. The police claimed that they did not see any white shirt triads holdin any kind of weapons. What’s more insane is, they did not tried to stop anyone of the white shirt to attack the citizens, instead they put their hands in their shoulders and acted like ‘allies’. They still claimed that the citizens started the whole thing first and those in the white were just trying to protect their home when it’s fake. They still refuse to beat any responsibility and not willing to explain why it takes so long for them to arrive and why no one pick up the phone. They even shut down the police report station on that day so there’s nowhere the citizens can call for help.

Is this Hong Kong Police? Working with triads and beating teenagers and youngsters who is fighting for freedom and democracy? So what’s the difference between Hong Kong Police and triads when they are basically doing the same thing? It’s police brutality, it’s terrorism. The police force should be disbanded.

The Hong Kong protests are one of many international protests against various governments worldwide due to a global fall in living standards under neoliberal regimes.

We have protests in Haiti, Ecuador, Sudan, Chile, Brazil and push back against neoliberal policies in the west by moving to the right in the UK with brexit, yellow vest protests in France and Trump being elected, using a platform of rejecting the establishment which proved to be a campaign tactic. The HK protesters blame the fall of their living standards/wages and rising cost of rent on the CCP when they are in fact caused by the neoliberal policies of living in capitalist Hong Kong not the supposed authoritarianism of the PRC. They simply don't wish to face the reality that the capitalist system is doing this to them and not the CCP and the western media, which does not cover protests in these other non-western countries, gives a holy uncritical view of what is a really a very reactionary and problematic protest movement

The HK protests are one of many protests around the world that display dissatisfaction with the neoliberal world order but American liberals only care about it because the protests are against a communist government

If liberals cared about "freedom" they would care about protests everywhere

Including protests against neoliberalism

But it's not about supporting freedom
