Alright, so as a gag gift for my birthday, my center liberal friend got me Hillary’s book as a ‘ha ha’ kind of thing.

(We can actually talk about politics without getting angry at each other and actually have a decent conversation/debate while also poking fun at each other about it. As it should be between friends!) He also knows I’m getting a book for him that is along the same lines but more conservative/not liberal material.

Well, I’m going through the first few pages here and It’s so puffed up. She talks about how she was so overemotional after the election. The section labeled “Showing Up” is basically just a bashing on trump and how she was terrified about this man being president.

One thing that really threw me for a wring was when she talked about Trump’s inaugural address.

Quote: “The new President’s speech was dark and dystopian. I heard it as a howl straight from the white nationalist gut. Its most memorable line was about “American Carnage,” a startling phrase more suited to a slasher film than an inaugural address. Trump painted a picture of a bitter, broken country I didn’t recognize.”

This obviously paints Trump as she is saying: A white nationalist gut.

Here is the context of the little snip-bit Hilary took from the Inauguration speech:

“But for too many of our citizens, a different reality exists: Mothers and children trapped in poverty in our inner cities; rusted-out factories scattered like tombstones across the landscape of our nation; an education system, flush with cash, but which leaves our young and beautiful students deprived of knowledge; and the crime and gangs and drugs that have stolen too many lives and robbed our country of so much unrealized potential.

This American carnage stops right here and stops right now.”

How does this make him a white nationalist? How does wanting to fix the drug problem, the educational problems, and the crime/gang problem we have in this country? He’s talking about the carnage that has been happening in this country and that his predecessor wasn’t helping rather you think he was trying or not. Because we do have a drug problem, our educational system is jank, and we do have huge crime rates. He was bringing that all to light and I felt that his entire inaugural speech was very inspiring.
