‘Mystery of the island’... funny, it’s like the island’s situation doesn’t just stop being a curiosity, even after it was all announced to be a simulation at the end. After all, weird and warped stuff in the final chapter aside, you can’t forget that this was modelled after the real Jabberwock Island...
...and there was a reason laid out for Jabberwock being particularly sought after. Hell, the Despairs were even brought to the real Jabberwock Island, as well.
A central headquarters, a military base... that’s not so far-fetched when you realise what happened to Angie’s island, most likely as a result of nuclear tests.
But that’s not all:
The sci-fi element: autonomous robots, along with creatures like Monobeasts.
Military robots.
And an Ultimate of them... would look something like this.
...The irony coming from every single one of these comments is so thick it’s like being hit with a barrage of bad puns. Kiibo you really are good at comedy
Here’s a spectacularly weird idea, that robots can indeed have souls.
...I’m tentative on this one because who the hell knows what’s going on with the supernatural in this game, but still we did witness something like it with our own eyes. Though one might think it’s a ‘trick of the light’, imagine how amazing an AI could be if it transcended its ‘beta existence’ to the level of humanity itself
At the least, it’s funny how there’s a friggin computer room on the spooky floor. Of all the places for it to be
Known liar: *drops a vague story about what he did*
Walking lie detector: *points out the dubiousness of his attitude*
Someone who cooperates with him: *outright states that he’s lying*
Consensus: “let’s all just ignore him and press on!”

On the one hand, Kiibo doesn’t deserve people’s disrespect of him just because he is a robot, and deserves the same respect as a human
On the other, he can totally take things if he needs to - like blasting through tanks or windows - and he does at times need a reminder that he’s not human because denying your true nature is what his arc is explicitly against
Have you got any favourite theories of yours about Kiibo?
That’s difficult to say because they all pretty much go hand-in-hand, but if I were to select, it’d be that ‘Kiibo is (effectively) the successor as the Ultimate Hope and Miu created him’- I was staggered by that quote from Nagito about a war birthing an ultimate Hope, and Kiibo is so Naegi inspired with spiky hair and all. Add that to Miu’s suggestions of her inventions being ‘very useful for the world’- I mean only she could have built the Ultimate Robot I’ll die on this hill gdi
Kiibo being a consciousness of Ouma/Monokichi runs very close too- that one is just harder for me to qualify as to why that specific consciousness came about, and what their connection really means exactly. But his relationship with Ouma is just really interesting and how it’s hinted as them being a comedy duo on the surface and Kiibo (albeit very crudely and childishly) represented by Monodam on an underlying level. And... now I come to think of it, we know how Chihiro created Alter Ego, an intelligent computer program based upon himself, and also created, and effectively fathered Chiaki. So it’s not a stretch that Kiibo’s personality was created or ‘copied’ with aspects of another person, as he even makes an outright reference to the ‘strong AI’ phenomenon Chiaki was a pioneer for (besides Alter Ego that is)
One day, an unpredictable accident occurred during a routine experiment. K1-B0's programming went rogue and he ended up seriously maiming the professor, but fortunately he survived. After hurting the professor, K1-B0 was suddenly overcome by immense sadness, especially considering that the First Law of Robotics stated 'a robot must not harm a human being'. Even though K1-B0 wasn't punished for breaking that rule, he nevertheless felt sadness and blamed himself, feeling extremely guilty. For the first time, he understood how it felt to feel human emotions, and at that moment his AI suddenly reset as if committing suicide. He became similar to a newborn infant once again, with all of his memories deleted. In his "next life", K1-B0 called it the day of his own "death" and the day of his true "birth". After learning the story from the professor, he assumed that perhaps he had wanted to be "reborn" as the professor's son once again.
Happy... er, re-activation day, Kiibo?
