@hiippocrates asked: "Do you ever sleep?"
[PROMPTS FOR WORKAHOLIC CHARACTERS WHO PUSH THEMSELVES TOO HARD]
The question is met by a set of sensitive ears; So sensitive, in fact, that Khan already knows about the other's arrival before he's even voiced his question into the silence of the brig. It's late, the change of shift has happened hours ago, and perhaps Khan is supposed to rest now as a prisoner... but he does not, sits upright instead, in the almost-darkness surrounding him and his cell.
He blinks, slowly so, then his gaze flicks over to the man's frame, highlighted by the subtle blue glow of the enviroment; Night mode, existing so that prisoners like Khan can find some sleep even while being stuck within their pristine cage. Blue eyes meet darker ones, expression as collected and neutral as usual, yet it seems a bit... softer on the edges, perhaps.
"---Do you?", he asks back, voice gentle, almost, interlaced with a hint of curiosity about the doctor's sudden appearance. Not that Khan minds - not at all - he's simply surprised to be visited at such a late time.
"I seem to be... unable to find much sleep lately."
For some mystery reason, he adds inside his mind in what is clearly a sarcastic tone; Khan does not speak it out loud, nor does he show the sentiment on his face - but instead keeps looking at McCoy evenly, shoulders moving as he inhales, then exhales.
