He Could Be The One - Hannah Montana
The firelight in Gryffindor tower was burning low; at this point, she and Oliver were the only two still awake in the common room, everyone else having trickled up to their beds as the hours wore on. Becca wasnāt ready to leave, though; she may be tired, but that was nothing that a few minutes leaning her head against her friendās shoulder while she tried to figure out their next step in the movie they were working on couldnāt cure.
She didnāt even know how theyād gotten to this point. Becca was usually terrified to show anyoneĀ her writing, much less to write a whole movie script with someone, but it was just so easy to get excited about ideas when she was sharing them with Oliver. And, whenever she started to panic, she kept telling herself that this wasnāt real ā this horror movie they were working on was a spoof, a joke between two friends who had been debating what their roles would be if they were ever plopped into a fictional world full of dumb slasher tropes. From there it had just sort of spiraled, like everything else turning into a fun excuse to spend time together.
āThereās got to be a way that Leah and Lucas both live until the end, Iām not letting fictional you die, Iāve been telling you that this whole time,ā Becca murmured sleepily, turning her head so that she yawned against the sleeve of his shirt instead of risking accidentally spraying spit on him in her exhausted state. She could probably have fallen asleep and stayed here all night and been totally happy, although she had a feeling Oliver would much rather plot out their movieās grand finale and go sleep in his own bed, given the choice.
āHe could be the one?ā Oliver suggested, sounding nearly as tired as she felt. He seemed hesitant as he said the words, and Becca didnāt understand why ā it was as if a lightbulb went off in her brain, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. The best way to make sure that Leah and Lucas both lived until the end of their movie was to have them fall in love in its final moments⦠and even as she jolted up straight and was clapping her approval at the idea, a heavy weight seemed to settle over her, too.
The idea felt perfect⦠But these werenāt just any old made up characters, they were characters so closely based on the two people sitting here on the couch together right now. Beccaās throat closed up with panic as she tried to hold back thoughts she didnāt even want to be thinking, and suddenly she didnāt want to be cuddled close to her friend anymore, she wanted to be far, far away where she could clear her head.Ā āBut um, we can work on finishing that tomorrow, maybe Iāll have another idea in my dreams or something, or ā or I should let you get some rest! See you tomorrow, bye!ā Becca spat out the words quickly, gathering her things and making a bee line for the portrait exit, hopefully before Oliver could even register what had just happened.
Send me a Ā ā« and Iāll put my music on shuffle and write you a drabble about our characters based on the first song that plays!
