(Y/N) was exhausted, and thoroughly angry. She’d woken up to find her husband's side empty and him already gone for the day. It’d been almost three weeks already, since she’d seen her husband for more than five minutes. Countless nights he’d been shut away in his office, whether it be at home or at work, reviewing a case. She’d been constantly making dinners for two, hoping he’d join, only to be let down. She’d tucked herself into bed by herself, only to wake up by herself. She was lonely, utterly lonely.Â
Angry wasn’t even the word for it anymore. She was outraged. Angry at the lonely nights, and empty promises that just after a little bit he’d come join her, but never did. She wanted revenge, but how?
Thankfully, last night her plan fell into action. Hiromi had left his wallet on his bedside table, like he normally did. So (Y/N) padded her way over to his wallet and slipped out his credit card. What better way to relax and destress than some good old retail therapy, at the expense of the person who made her mad in the first place.Â
Which led to this morning, (Y/N) getting dressed and slipping out of the apartment. She’d walked down the street to a local shopping district to see what she could find. She was definitely going to treat herself to something nice, she just didn’t know what yet.Â
First she tried a small clothing boutique, only to find absolutely nothing. They had nothing in her style, it was definitely more catered to school girls than a woman of her age. So she kept going.Â
Second, a shoe store. She wanted new heels, preferably some white ones, since her other pair was starting to finally show wear. Thankfully, she did find a pair. They were cute white kitten heels, normally she’d go for something taller but she couldn’t resist, she liked them too much.Â
She wasn’t done, nowhere near it in fact. A simple pair of heels only worth a few thousand yen was not enough, she wanted to spend more. So she tried a jewelry store, but alas, nothing. She didn’t like any of the pieces they offered, once again not fitting her taste. This store was definitely for women older than her, offering only chunky pieces.Â
That landed her here, at a small lingerie store named, Intimissimi. It was a quaint store with its white and marble detailing. Racks upon racks of various styles of lingerie lined the walls, and floor. A faint smell of some sort of expensive perfume lingered in the air, subtly taking over one’s senses without drowning it.Â
(Y/N) slowly walks through the racks, hand outstretched grazing slightly against the clothes. She deserved it, after all he made her mad, and she deserved some retail therapy. She was definitely going to buy something while she was here. She needed a few new bras, and sets anyway. Hiromi always tended to rip them off of her, whether she wanted him to or not.Â
After spending some time looking around the store, she finally found something she liked, a deep blue lace set. She loved it, even if it was a little more scandalous than she’d normally get. The lace was soft and stretchy, as she ran her fingers over it.Â
A small clash catches (Y/N)’s attention, causing her to look over. It was the same worker she’d seen three times now. She always seemed to be where (Y/N) was, as she moved through the store. (Y/N) had caught her staring a few times, wondering why she kept looking at her.Â
Finally the worker turned to face (Y/N). She slowly walks upto her, seemingly nervous for some reason. “Excuse me miss. How has your shopping been going? Is there anything I can help you with?”Â
“Oh no, I’m alright. Thank you though.” (Y/N) smiles.Â
“Then may you follow me to the front, so we can have you empty your purse, Ma’am?”Â
“Huh? Wait — what? I haven’t stolen anything!”
“Please follow me to the front if we can clear this up then we don’t need to call the cops.”
“I’m calling my husband.” (Y/N) states, digging into her purse to dig out her phone. She turns it on and scrolls through her contacts before clicking on her husbands. She follows the lady to the front of the store, other customers staring at her as she walks. Her face flushes, embarrassed at the staring. People watched as if they were also surprised there was a thief in the store, even if they’d gotten it all wrong. The store had gone eerily silent besides the few clangs of hangers in the distance. All attention seemed to be on her and what was happening.Â
Riiiingggg…
Riiiingggg…
“Hello?” His deep voice rings out.Â
“Hiromi. I need you to come. I’m being accused of shoplifting. They said they’re gonna call the police. I haven't done anything!” (Y/N) cries out worried. She couldn’t get arrested, she hadn’t done anything besides walk around the store.
“Do not speak to them. Tell them your lawyer is on the way and you're refusing to speak without representation. Do not say anything, I mean it. I’m leaving work now.” Hiromi was scrambling over the phone, (Y/N) could hear it. He quickly had switched from caring husband to lawyer in a matter of seconds after hearing her crying.Â
“Ma’am? Please comply with us. My manager is on the phone with the police now.” The attendant commands, trying to sound authoritative but failing. (Y/N) could see the sweat dripping down her face, she was nervous. Of course she would be, this could take an ugly turn at any moment. Confronting thieves isn’t any easy task, they could get violent, but luckily for her (Y/N) wasn’t like that in the slightest.Â
“I want a lawyer. I have done nothing wrong.”Â
“Ma’am, please.”
“Lawyer.”Â

It had taken Hiromi ten minutes to get there on the dot. He’d quickly shot up from his officer chair, grabbing his coat and all but sprinting out the door. Shimizu had jumped from her desk when she heard his door slam open, seeing the very angry man storm through, before yelling at her to clear his schedule.Â
The walk towards his car in the garage was the longest five minutes of his life, opting to take the stairs instead of the elevator, going two steps at the time. He was seething, how could his wife be accused of such crimes. He knew better something had gone wrong and now his wife was taking the downfall for it.Â
He all but rips his car door open, sliding into the driver's seat and tearing off from his parking space. He hits the streets of Tokyo, thankful the roads were somewhat clear due to it being work hours. He’d checked his wife’s location going down the stairs, seeing she wasn’t a far drive away.Â
Pulling into a spot further down the street, he hops out and powerwalks his way towards the store, mind trying to come up with a plan to solve this crisis. Full lawyer mode now. This time he wasn’t defending a random stranger, no this time it was his wife. He swings the door open to find his wife standing by the cash register, absolutely seething with her arms crossed.Â
“Hello, I’m Higuruma Hiromi. I’m (Y/N)’s lawyer. What seems to be the problem today?” Hiromi asks, straightening his posture, he had to be as formal as possible.Â
“Hello sir. I’m Sano Koharu, the manager of Intimissimi. This lady has been accused of shoplifting.” The store's manager explains, turning to face Hiromi.
“Is there any viable evidence or are you just basing your accusations on suggestions? Had anyone seen her presumably shoplifting, whether that be with their own eyes or with the store cameras?”Â
“We don’t really have any proof. We just believed she was due to the way she was wandering the store.” Sano explains, voice shaking. Standing in front of a lawyer, seemed to make the situation all more real.Â
(Y/N) smirked, happy at the outcome. Of course they didn’t have any proof, she hadn’t done it. Now they were facing the consequences. Moments like these were reasons she was glad to have a husband as a lawyer. He’d fight anyone for her, no matter what it was about. Luckily this time, it regarded his specialty, the law.Â
“Then if (Y/N) shows there’s nothing in her purse, will you drop all charges?” Hiromi questions. He was angry, very angry, though he kept his composure. Reasons like these were the reason he became a lawyer in the first place; to help those who've been called guilty without any proof or reasoning.Â
“I guess that would suffice.”Â
“Then Mrs. (Y/N), would you clear your purse?” Hiromi asks, turning to face his wife.Â
(Y/N) sighs, setting her purse down on the counter. She unzips it and begins digging everything out — wallet, keys, the million lip products, her husband's credit card (oops), a random snack bar she’d forgotten about, but no lingerie. She looks between everyone, hoping that they were satisfied. Her husband on the other hand, had an eyebrow cocked at seeing her pull out his credit card that he admittedly didn’t even know was missing from his wallet.Â
“Thank you, and we apologize on behalf of the store for accusing you. We’ve had a lot of thefts lately and you looked similar to the girl who keeps coming in to steal. Please take this store credit on our behalf.” Sano apologizes, bowing and holding out a gift card in her hands. (Y/N) could tell she was ashamed over her actions. Embarrassed that she’d caught the wrong girl, and accused someone wrongfully.Â
“Thank you, and it’s alright, mistakes happen.” (Y/N) takes the card from Sano’s hands, and puts her purse back together. She’d come back another day to pick something out, maybe she’ll bring her husband with her.Â
The two make their way out of the shop, one happy, another still seething. Hiromi had parked a little ways down the street, opting to drive rather than try to use public transportation or run to the store.Â
“So about my credit card?” Hiromi asks. His tone was far from angry, rather something more amused. He reaches out a hand to soothe down (Y/N)’s hair that had stuck up.Â
“Oh — um, I was mad at you. So I decided to treat myself to some nice retail therapy in retaliation on your behalf, unfortunately it didn’t go as planned.” (Y/N) smiles, digging through her purse to pull out some chapstick. “Of course, it had to be me who got accused. It was just my sort of luck, something like that.”Â
“Well after that you deserve to be treated. Our usual restaurant? I can call and get our usual table.”
“Yes, please. Does this mean I get my husband for the rest of the day?”Â
“Of course. I’m sorry I haven’t been the best husband lately. The trial for my case is tomorrow, and after that we’ll go on a vacation somewhere. Wherever you want to go.” Hiromi apologizes, turning the car on. (Y/N) could see the remorse in his face, he’d realized he’d been a little respectful to his wife since this case started. But he was going to make it right.
