i’m hannah and i’m currently a sophomore (nearly a junior) in high school. this is a little bit about my high school band experience so far:
i am in concert band, jazz band, and marching band
i play flute, alto flute, and currently learning oboe
i can also play a little bit of guitar but not for band
in concert and marching band i currently play flute full time
in jazz band i play flute and alto flute
i started doing band as a 5th grader so i’ve been playing flute for 6 years and i just started playing alto flute

Normally: “oh hey babe can I carry that for you?” “oh yes please!! thanks that’s so sweet!”
Band: “oh hey babe can I carry that for you?” “HOLY CRAP THANK YOU MY BACK HAS BEEN SORE FOR DAYS BECAUSE OF THIS DAMN (insert large band instrument here)!”

Sad day. Lost two of my best friends in music. Larry Grisham, lead singer and founding guitar players with The Beat Daddys and Jim Smith, my old HS band director at Peabody High School in the mid 70s. Larry toured the world with the Beat Daddys and Jim toured as part of the great Ace Cannon's combo before leaving the road to become a HS band director. Both of these cats were so talented and such a great players, but they were even better people!
