We are all here to learn love, and the first lesson is learning love of self. Without love of self, we cannot know how to love others.
Are You Waiting for Inspiration? Or Intuition?
Sometimes you can find yourself at a place where you look around and sense you have fallen out of alignment with the people, places and things around you. Itās time for change. You can feel it.
Like outgrowing an old article of clothing, you find yourself trying on the idea of a new relationship, job, home or town for size. You might even have begun explore and research a new idea. But all the while as youāve done this, you sense the gap (sometimes a gorge!) between your life now and how you would like it to be, and for all your wishing, wanting and hoping, how you can get across this divide is frustratingly unclear.
Isnāt it ironic at times like this, that you know you need to start creating new experiences and yet feel suspended in time as you wait for inspiration about what you can do next?
Me Myself and I ā Embodying the Aspects of Our Authentic Self
āIf you want to awaken all of humanity, then awaken all of yourself. If you want to eliminate the suffering in the world, then eliminate all that is dark and negative in yourself. Truly, the greatest gift you have to give is that of your own self-transformation.ā ~ Lao Tzu The goal of Embodiment is to really come to an emotional and spiritual space of freedom, of Self acceptance, of conscious awareness of our emotional, physical and spiritual being. When we understand our own complexity, our own duality, and what elements comprise the Self, it frees us up to experience our own peaceful journey. We can Learn to take the wheel on our journey, in our own vehicle no less, taking the scenic route through Life while growing in emotional and spiritual intelligence along the way.
It is only by accepting the opportunity to learn about Self, and to embody our many seemingly contradictory aspects, that we allow ourselves to grow into the Spiritual dimension. (sorry ā it doesnāt work the other way around). We donāt need a psychologist to identify our āmultiple personalitiesā, or to help us understand our Self. Understanding our own authentic path starts and ends with us. Within each of us is Me, Myself, and I. They are all Present at different levels in our Life and, most certainly, in our Reality. Our Spirit, and our access to Spiritual dimensions, is within each and every one of us to access, and we find it by way of the symbiotic relationship between impulse, emotion and Spirit ā the trinity of Me, Myself, and I. So letās talk about whoās who in this equation.
Me Myself and I⦠Whoās Who?
ME is the one whose job it is to operate the vehicle and keep the Passenger/s Safe. Me is our āegoā mind who likes to know where theyāre going. We are going to call āMeā the āStudent Driverā or the āDriverā for short. The Driver is focused on the road ahead. The Driver is stubborn sometimes and likes to play it safe by sticking to the familiar route. The Driver will decide whether or not the Self is taking an optimal route by way of progress and roadblocks. But the new Driver must learn to extend their experience beyond comfort and familiarity; just because the road is familiar doesnāt mean itās the right path for us, or will take us where we need to go. MYSELF is our own unique lens and perspective on the world, and our Lives in general. āMyselfā has the map. Myself is the Passenger in charge of the radio and what station itās on, by way of Selfās perspective. Selfās perspective can change at any moment on this journey, as the Passenger experiences the emotion of the music and sees the view beyond the road. Unlike the Driver, the Passenger will decide whether or not the Self is taking an optimal route by way of the their Experiences and feelings. I is the Higher Self that we all have access to, if we choose to allow its Presence into the vehicle. I is our I AM Presence who is here to help us navigate the unfamiliar road, and mediate between the needs of the Driver and the Passenger. āIā holds the atlas, the key to all the Experiences we may have on this journey. So we will call I the āNavigatorā. The Navigator has a serious job in overseeing the Journey, making sure the Driver and the Passenger donāt get lost along way. After all, their focus is narrower than that of the Navigator, and they tend to forget that this resource is available to them in every moment. Now, we have a Driver (ME), a Passenger (Myself), and a Navigator (I) who all make their Home withIN. No wonder we feel confused sometimes, trying to figure out which way to turn! The Driver (ME) just wants to get from A to B, the Passenger (Myself) wants to experience the journey (and all its infinite blessings) through its ever changing lens of perception, while the Navigator (I) feels that the Driver and Passenger are constantly āat oddsā and has a hard time getting both of them to acknowledge her Presence.
The Trinity and the Journey of Life
The Driver is the āegoā mind or the emotionally tender one who Experiences said Emotion by way of the Passengerās Perspective ā Positive or negative. The Driver is the one who acts/reacts to the circumstances he/she encounters based on the āroad conditionsā which would equate to the bumps, twists, turns, and circumstances of the Path we are traveling in Life. The Driver takes a lot of crap because itās the Driverās job to keep everyone in the vehicle safe and itās a serious job, no doubt. In that, the Driver can be overprotective with a tendency to drive around the circular driveway over and over.
Cautious of becoming stranded with a flat tire, the Driver is hesitant to try new roads and as such tends to play it safe when it comes to trying alternative routes or embarking on new destinations. The Driver and the Passenger tend to argue about the radio āchannelā. The Driver wants to take the Passenger wherever it desires but, the Driver is also responsible for not crashing and hurting someone. Letās just say he hasnāt loved driving school so far; if it werenāt for his Passenger, he probably wouldnāt leave the garage. The Passenger is the Creator of our reality by way of how they choose to Experience Life. The Passengerās perception directly affect the decisions of the Driver. The Passenger gets to fully Experience the ride and has control of the radio āchannelā, choosing the frequency of the transmission. Are we on a Positive or Negative channel? Do we turn our receiver off altogether? What kind of vibe are we sending out? On the one hand, the emotion-driven Passenger is curious and thirsts for new experiences. On the flip side, the Passenger sometimes likes what it sees and feels, and may not want to change its point of view. The Passenger can tend to drift off, busy looking out the rear window (the past) or at a spot on the horizon (the future) and forgets to really appreciate the full view of Life as it passes by in the moment of NOW. The Navigatorās job is most certainly to guide the Driver and Passenger through the ever changing landscape. The Navigator provides us a conscious awareness - our I AM Presence ā of our physical vehicle, of the road ahead and behind, and the very nature of our journey. The Navigator provides unconditional Love, no matter what we choose to Experience on the trip, but asks that we not harm ourselves or others along the way. The Navigator can be hard to communicate with sometimes. We know she is in the vehicle but she can be easily forgotten among the excitement of our travels. We first have to acknowledge the Navigatorās presence and give her Permission to reveal knowledge of the atlas. When we invite the Navigator on the ride, she gracefully offers the Driver the clearest route and helps the Passenger to find the music that sings to the Soul.
The Embodiment and the Infinite Road
Life is aĀ pathĀ that runs in the Infinite pattern of the Creator, so there is always an opportunity for the Driver to change course or direction. This infinite fractal pattern allows the Passenger time to observe and tune into where we want to visit or re-visit, and the Driver opportunity to change course to satisfy the emotional driveĀ of the Passenger. The conscious awareness of the Navigator permits us to feel Safe, knowing we can accessĀ theĀ map of the roadĀ of Life, and we can always find our way to another new crossing ā instead of passing the same crossing over and over again.
Recognizing the pattern of the Infinite road assures us that we always know where weāre coming from and where weāre going. We know thereās always an opportunity to Experience something new or to keep having the same Experiences ā we know we have a choice! With that assurance, we can simply ask the Navigator to guide us to another intersection, and tell the Passenger to crank up the music! In essence, we can virtually āstart overā in any and every Moment ā the NOW moment ā just by asking the Navigator for a new itinerary. The Driver will forge a new path and the Passenger experience Life and its Infinite possibilities through a new lens of perspective. To fully Embody all aspects of the emotional and spiritual Self, we must understand that the relationship between our Ego, Emotional and Higher aspects. We must learn to appreciate the wisdom of our Navigator, while also acknowledging that our physical vehicle (Life and its Expression) needs to be tended to as well, in order to keep the vehicle functioning and moving on down the road. In this, all aspects of our physical and Infinite selves must be integrated. Letās think about the word Embodiment, and break it down in terms. Em ā bodi ā ment. āEmā is the Emotional aspects of our vehicle or Life expression; how we feel about things, which also relates to our Spirituality. We have to feel it, all of it, to know what feels harmonic and melodious to our Souls, and what feels dark and disturbing. āEmā asks us to be Emotionally present in the vehicle of Life and to be aware of how we feel in the moment, so our Spirit can help us navigate the twists and turns ahead. āBodiā asks us to be physically present in our Lives, meaning are we physically in attendance at all times, and attending to (nurturing) to our mind and body. āMentā is the mental and psychological lens of our perceptions; it asks us to choose how we define our Experiences, or whether our Experiences define us. It requires mental presence, so we can clearly adapt to any changing conditions the road may present. The embodiment of Self, of our whole experience on the Infinite road, can be achieved through the practice of bringing conscious awareness to every aspect of our lives - our emotions, our bodies, and our mental Being.
