I was thinking last night about how both the human characters in Deltarune and Undertale who are being controlled by the player have their eyes closed/hidden in some way. Eyes are known to be are the window to the soul. And idk about you but to me they’re, because of this, pretty humanizing. But since Frisk and Kris are just used as vessels, they are not as human as we are so their eyes aren’t shown.

But Kris DOES show one of their eyes—ONLY when they rip our soul out of their own chest and when they are falling into the dark world in the second chapter. You know what other human shows their eyes? CHARA. And Chara is another human who confronts the player at the end of the genocide run, just like Kris does at the end of the chapters; they are not under our control.

Aside from humans, you know who else doesn’t show their eyes usually? SPAMTON. Also, Jevil does show his eyes, but only because he is free from the confines of the game, at least in his pov.

Do you get what I’m saying here? I’m kind of just throwing up ideas onto a post.
