hey there! i’m writing to you because i absolutely fell in love with your fic "heard from your mother (she don't recognize you)". you nailed the characterization so perfectly — they feel incredibly canon, and reading it was a pure delight!
i loved it so much that my friends and i actually teamed up to translate it into russian. we were so inspired that we have already finished translating all the chapters — it turned out to be almost 220,000 words in russian!
i do have a little bit of a confession to make, though: we got so incredibly excited about your amazing work that we already started posting our translation on a Russian fanfiction site. We made absolutely sure to give you full credit as the author and linked directly back to you, of course!
But I wanted to reach out and do things properly. I’m writing to ask for your official permission: would you be okay with us keeping the translation on the Russian site, and also posting it on AO3? (If we post on AO3, we will definitely use the "translation" feature to link it directly to your original fic).
Here is the Google Doc with our work so far: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1KZs4DXFh-fZovkZZv_ca2j3DLQwS51M7BJrs4goEavw/edit?usp=drivesdk
Just a heads-up: it currently contains the fully edited version up to chapter 6, and we are constantly updating it as we polish the rest of the text.
If you are not comfortable with your work being translated or posted elsewhere, please just say the word! We will take it down immediately, no questions asked and absolutely no hard feelings. We just have massive respect for your writing. Thank you for your time! 💙💚
hi there! omg so glad I opened this app today
yes!! absolutely you can post. I am so honored you and your friends were touched by my story enough that you went to the trouble of translating such a beast of a fic 💖
thanks for asking too :) please feel free to dm me if you run across something and want any insight from my POV if there is debate on how to best translate any part of the story.
