based on that ! we know that puffy is trying to seek out the syndicate, but we don’t actually know whether she really intends to join or not. to me it reads as similar to puffy’s invitation to techno during the egg arc (which is to say: asking cc!techno if he’d be interested in joining in on the lore. which isn’t the Most natural way to have their characters meet up, but it gives cc!techno the chance to turn it down if he’s not interested)

I think based on the wording we’re Either going to get puffy having another villain arc in the syndicate (which is tired at this point, especially now that it’s clear that anybody in the syndicate can do anything and they won’t get consequences unless they think those consequences will be cool), Or she could be setting up a confrontation between her and the syndicate by lulling them into a false sense of security.

specifically highlighting the fact that techno Looks villainous is either calling out techno’s actions within the syndicate (letting dream out of prison if we’re lucky, though what happened with sam being addressed could be interesting), Or highlighting the fact that she wants to be seen as a villain going forward and be surrounded by people that are going to let her be one without kicking her out or confronting her.

I can’t say which one I think it’ll be with confidence without trying to sift through more of the context (or before it actually comes to pass) but either way: I think it’s really funny when other streamers use the exact language that c!techno doesn’t like to describe the syndicate (”it’s basically like a country” - wilbur “even when it paints you as the villain” - puffy)
