4. What was your muse doing when they heard about Harryâs death â and later Nevilleâs death and Harryâs resurrection? How did they react to the news? Did they attend either of the funerals or memorials?
âYouâre kidding.â
The words fell from Teddyâs lips without thought, and they stood frozen, staring at James, a wand in one stilled hand and a phoenix feather in the other. It wasnât a joke. They knew James, how he was, and of all the things that could have been a joke, this would never have been one of them. What had prompted the words from Teddyâs mouth had been shock, nothing but.
Silence began to overwhelm the small Ollivanderâs storefront, and it had begun to feel smaller than it normally did. They shut their eyes.
Finally, a sigh slipped through Teddyâs lips. Their gaze was now focused not on James, but on a wand stuffed on a shelf above his head. If they looked at him, they would only see Harry. If they saw Harry, they werenât entirely sure they wouldnât cry.
âWhat happened?â
And so James told them. Their heart ached in their chest, their hair had turned gray in their grief. It hurt. This hurt. Harry was â Harry was the damn near closest thing Teddy had had to a father. Harry had been a mentor, a friend â family.Â
It seemed unfair.
And it was selfish, but all Teddy could think about how many people theyâd already lost in a terrible manner, and why did this have to happen to them?
No one deserved this.
Suddenly, Teddy was struck with a burst of energy. With James left standing at the front of the shop, they put down the wand and the feather, pushing them to the side of the counter. They grabbed their wand from their pocket, pointing it carelessly towards the back and with a flick of their wrist, they locked the door to the back room.
âIâm closing the store early â Ollivander will understand.â
They took off their apron and hung it on a hook behind the counter.
âWhere are you going now? Does anyone else not know?â
The idea of telling anyone else was ⌠unappealing. But Teddy needed to see everyone else, all of the Potters and Weasleys. They needed to know that everyone else was okay (or at least as okay as they could be).Â
Teddy was sad as fuck learning Harry died. Did they cry immediately? No. Did they cry alone in their flat? Yes. Did they change their hair and eye color to Harryâs like they did when they were younger when they went to the funeral? Yes. Was it sad bitch hours for a while for Teddy? Still yes.
Nevilleâs death? Also sad. Teddy wasnât close to him, though.
On Harryâs resurrection, Teddyâs heart burst. The world had lost Harry too earlier and now that it had him back â now that they had him back â everything would be a little bit better. Of course, that idea soured as soon as Teddy knew the truth. Suddenly, having Harry back was bittersweet. It wasnât the same.
24. What are your museâs bad habits?
Time to wreck Teddy Lupin.
They bite their nails when theyâre nervous. They tap their foot when theyâre anxious, and their whole body vibrates. They smoke on really bad days. They have to set an alarm or they oversleep. They obsessively crack their knuckles. Theyâre a bit of a pushover. They can rarely keep a secret. They lose their wand if it isnât in their pocket.
36. If your muse was given the choice of what house they would be sorted into, what house would they have chose?
Teddy was insufferable to sort to begin with. They had no preference on house. Sure, itâdâve been nice to be in either of the houses their parents had been in, but Grandma Andy had been a Slytherin and Grandpa Ted was a Ravenclaw, so really there was no bad option â every house was a family house, technically. They just wanted to be where theyâd have a family. They could find that anywhere if they tried. With a harrumph (who knew a hat could sigh), the hat took its time before calling out â HUFFLEPUFF â.
