✊🏾D.J's reflection of our first visit to the @nmaahc on his birthday this past Friday .(S/O to auntie Courtney for the tickets , she made it her business for him to go) I felt that it was thoroughly important for him to see a glimpse of portions of our history . With all that's going on in this world / country it's imperative that we educate, uplift, encourage and learn from one another , especially our youth. They need us and we need them . It's very vital to dissect our history properly so that our future generations can emulate what's right and correct what's wrong . Our history didn't begin at slavery like the text books taught us and continues to teach our babies . It's up to us to break this generational physical, emotional and psychological oppression that plagues us today . We are responsible for providing our baby Kings and Queens with the unerring knowledge of themselves. We have to protect them . Their lives tomorrow are dependent on our actions today . I'm so proud of my prince for willingly learning for himself and always being proud of who he is and where he came from .
