So, I've been out as a lesbian for years. *I don't discriminate against transwomen and date non-binary folk* *not a man? I can vibe with that*
And I'm also poly. I have two long term girlfriends.
My mum has met one of them and both my parents know... But they don't quite get it.
One of my girlfriends is trans and my dad's first question was if she had the support of her family.
*she does and they're great.*
Buuut every now and again my dad still asks
'do they both know?'
Like, he just forgets I have two partners and doesnt make the connection; when I talk about them both separately it confuses him a lot.
He's trying to understand and I love that, but he still has a hard time and I get that.
But it still makes me laugh when I remember how puzzled he looked when I first told them.
Like: Wow, I'm very sorry to shake your cis-het world... but fuck that... Heres my truth.
