Happy Monday!
Sweater weather is upon us! Well for some of us. My twin recently sent me this text below.
Before her text, I wanted to do a post about where to purchase cute African and Black Culture inspired sweatshirts. Similar to my 2013 Fall Sweatshirts post here and my 2014 Cool Tees post here. So I have again, listed below some dope sweatshirts for you conscious, pro black and 0r African inspired folks. Click on the names to order a sweatshirt!
1. DOPEciety
I have both of these sweaters and I get so many compliments when I rock either one of them. I purchased both of them earlier this year at Nubian Hueman Boutique in Washington DC. They’re currently not available at Nubian Hueman. However, you can purchase them directly from the DOPEciety website here.
2. QuellyRue
3. Hillman Bookstore
I’ve already mentioned here just how much I love A Different World so this sweater is definitely on my wish list. I already own the Hillman College t-shirt (see my post here). If you’re a fan of A Different World, live in the 90s or wish you went to an HBCU (Historically Black College University), definitely check out Hillman College Bookstore. I briefly attended an HBCU before transferring to the University of Maryland, College Park. I attended Morgan State University for a year. GO BEARS!
4. The Cultured Savage
5. #SmartBrownGirl
#SmartBrownGirl is more than a cute sweatshirt. It’s a global movement <insert black fist emoji>. It was founded by Jouelzy and you can read more about it and the meaning here on her blog. Or you can watch her video What is a #SmartBrownGirl?
6. LLULO
LLULO also has the cutest ankaraAfrican inspired home deco.
7. HERthreads
*Ques* Mary J Blige and Method Man’s You’re All I Need for the left and right sweaters. I featured HERthreads cute Queen By Nature sweater here in my 2013 post Sweatshirts For the Fall. I love how the middle sweater is inspired by the LA Gear logo #90sanyone?.
