Her mouth is hanging open. She’s very much aware of that fact. But how else is one supposed to react to being told something like that from a freakin’ Avenger. It was a feeling that she wasn’t sure that she would ever get used to this feeling. 

She should probably say something. Anything. She’s been staring a while.

➲ 𝙆𝙄𝙎𝙎𝙄𝙉𝙂  𝘿𝙀𝙏𝘼𝙄𝙇𝙎  !  〢   @herosborn​ . reunion kisses stemming from i thought you were dead​

one  minute,    the  floor  was  there.    the  next,    well        . . .        there  was  no  floor.    clint  remembers  the  feeling  of  falling,    thought  racing  and  hands  clawing  for  something,    anything  to  grab  ahold  of  to  slow  his  descent.    after  that,    it  all  goes  a  bit  fuzzy.    he  remembers  the  impact        ⸻        his  body  does,    anyway.    doesn’t  feel  nearly  bad  enough  to  have  been  many  floors.    maybe  a  couple,    three,    four,    maybe  ?    not  exactly  his  most  graceful  landing,    but  he  manages  to  scramble  to  his  feet  and  avoid  the  rest  of  the  CRUMBLING  STRUCTURE  above.

it  only  sets  in  a  little  while  later  that  he  can’t  hear  anything.    no  sounds  of  violence  or  chaos,    no  falling  debris,    no  sounds  of  his  teammates  yammering  on  in  his  ear.    great.    just  great.

he’s  no  good  to  anyone  stuck  in  here,    and  the  building  isn’t  feeling  like  a  very  safe  place  to  be  right  now,    so  he  sets  off  towards  what  he  hopes  is  an  exit.    the  dust  makes  it  hard  to  see,    damn  near  impossible,    actually,    but  somehow,    he  manages.

the  sun  is  too  bright  when  clint  makes  it  out.    too  bright  and  futzing  beautiful  all  at  the  same  time,    or  he  figures  it  would  be  beautiful  if  he  could  see  anything  through  squinting.    he’ll  blame  the  sun,    then,    when  he  doesn’t  register  the  blue  blur  until  it’s  nearly  on  him.    he  has  just  enough  time  to  yelp  out  a  TOTALLY  DIGNIFIED,        ❝        steve         ⸻         ❞        before  it  crashes  into  him  with  almost  as  much  force  as  the  floor  had.    there  are  arms  around  him,    then  hands  on  his  face,    all  a  little  too  fast  for  clint’s  fall  - scrambled  brain  to  keep  up  with.

(  𝚢𝚘𝚞 ?  )  𝚜𝚌𝚊𝚛𝚎𝚍  𝚖𝚎  !

clint  can  just  make  out  lips  moving  and  points  guiltily  at  his  ear.     ❝        sorry,    cap.    i  can’t         ⸻         ❞        he  doesn’t  get  the  chance  to  finish  his  apology  before  steve  is  surging  forward  again,    one  of  those  hands  curled  tight  around  the  back  of  clint’s  neck.    he’s  kissing  him,    clint’s  brain  screams,    and  maybe  later  he’ll  have  the  bandwidth  to  wonder  when  that’s  gonna  stop  being  such  a  surprise.    still  ?    steve’s  never  done  the  PDA  ON  A  MISSION  thing.        ❝        i’m  okay,         ❞        he  says  only  once  steve  pulls  back,    and  only  because  the  guy  still  looks  worried  behind  that  mask.        ❝        for  now,    anyways.    tony’s  gonna  kill  me  for  breaking  his  earpiece  again.         ❞

CLINT  IS  IN  TROUBLE.    in  other  news,    the  sky  is  blue  and  water  is  wet.    except  the  sky  is  kinda  gray  and  gross  today,    but  that  isn’t  the  point.    clint  has  a  knack  for  landing  himself  on  the  bad  sides  of  bad  people.    he  always  figures  a  way  out  before  things  go  too  pear  shaped.    

at  least  that’s  what  he’s  been  telling  himself  since  the  last  round  of  goons  managed  to  leave  a  nasty  little  threatening  love  letter  in  the  form  of  smoldering  ruins  of  another  apartment  building  not  far  from  his.    so,    yeah,    they’ve  got  some  MUSCLE,    and  clint’s  feeling  a  little  under  the  gun,    but  he’ll  figure  it  out.    he  just  wishes  maybe  steve  could  have  stopped  by  once  he  was  farther  along  in  the  figuring  part.

❥❥❥ |IF HE wouldn’t be judged for throwing his fist through dry wall he would, or maybe his foot? possibly even his head. but that would just make his head ache worse, that would just make everyone else that much more concerned with his presence, that would make everyone that much more afraid of him. Bucky’s at his wits end, really; so far past simply being annoyed that he wants to choke the living hell out of the next person to walk through the door. 

     luckily for both of them, it’s Steve that saunters in. all worried eyes, and calming presence. it pisses Bucky off more, if he were being honest. and Steve must pick up on that because rather than try and quell his rage, he asks one simple thing. 

wanna go find something to break? 

     Bucky heaves a sigh while pushing himself from his seat and wasting no time in snagging his jacket from the floor.
