exhausted, was an understatement. 

between being forced awake sometime after midnight for an akuma attack, and then being unable to fall back asleep, it would be better to say that she was a zombie in this current moment.  maybe that was the reason she had been able to talk to him all day without having one of her marinette moments of freaking out over nothing, maybe it’s the reason she’s now currently alone with him in the library half way dozing off as he rambles on about something

   and maybe it’s the same reason she hadn’t noticed the puns and very chat noir like behavior.

in her current state, when that phrase is said she doesn’t think it’s adrien. no, she’s taken back to that same exact phrase being said by her partner far more times than she could even count. so while marinette’s normal answer would be to screech, flail and fall out of her chair causing a already awkward moment to be more awkward

Emilie can’t quite explain anything to him, as she doesn’t understand it herself.
