Mustering troops for the Skeleton War -- "Painting Skeletons" by Mike McVey, in the center of the Warhammer Rulebook from the 4th edition box set (1992), showing figures built mostly from the plastic Skeleton Horde box. This was one of the best ways to paint old yellowed bones stained by contact with soil, until the invention of Skeleton Horde contrast paint.
Base white. Wash with 2 parts brown ink + 2 parts yellow ink + 1 part water. Drybrush some highlights, just a couple of lighter colors or more as desired. The skull gets a little more attention, but still very quick to complete in batches.
