Jujutsu Kaisen: The Monumental
The Gojo clan have found themselves fully at the mercy of a great avatar of the forest that threatens to slaughter every last one of them for grave crimes unknown, unless they engage in a sudden diplomatic offer and willingly hand over the bloodline's most precious one in exchange for long term peace. Now isolated from his family and bound to his would-be-exterminator, Satoru slowly discovers that the events that ultimately led to this violent war are not quite as clear cut, and that the beast who calls him wife is not quite as monstrous as he first believed
CHAPTER TWO - TRIBUTE
Heavy. He felt so heavy. A low groan slipping from his lips and a gentle thrum that pulsed through the left side of his skull were the first dregs that slowly pulled Satoru back into consciousness. Not that it mattered much; he couldn’t move, feeling no different than he did on those rare days he was gripped with flu while a mountain of sand weighed down his brain and his eyes were sealed shut tight with magnets. At least he wasn’t actually being cooked alive by fever this time, an infinitely small blessing he was happy to accept, but the pressure quickly turning from a throb into an ache was a whole other issue. Oh he would absolutely be finding a way to get back at Toji for that later. He could appreciate the craft of such a speedy and expertly executed manoeuvre, but only if it was done on other people. Definitely not on his gorgeous handsome face. If his skull had indeed been thoroughly cracked open upon impact with the table, which he didn’t doubt considering Jiro’s consistent demand for efficiency, it seemed that his kin had at least been kind enough to smush it somewhat back together after throwing him somewhere out the way for the time being. Whether or not they had healed any deeper issues was yet to be seen; they certainly hadn’t fixed up the bruise that was currently screaming at him to move off it. Clearly the superficial aspects were punishment for his refusal to jump for joy at the opportunity presented to him. They never could stand that he was prettier than all of them. He supposed he’d at least be able to wear it well if it turned out purple, he didn’t really have anything in his wardrobe to match that awful shade of sickly yellow. In the midst of the haze of pain, he managed to wonder; how would his jailer react to being offered such visibly damaged goods? Would it be angered at such blatant disrespect and forgo the treaty all together, or would it see the humour in them turning against their own in such a manner? He refused to accept the blame if things went further to shit when it wasn’t even him who fucked it all up.
