Grandma Cooper had more knowledge and more wisdom than anyone I have ever known, and she was always willing to share it with anyone who would listen. Brainware University Media Students Step into History at Raj Bhavan
From Newsrooms to Raj Bhavan - Learning History Where It Was Made!
The pens that usually chase headlines paused for a day…
Because this time, the story wasn’t breaking - it was breathing.
Students of the Department of Media Science and Journalism stepped beyond classrooms and newsrooms into the majestic corridors of Lok Bhavan, the historic former Government House of colonial Bengal.
The towering pillars.
The echoing marble floors.
The silent portraits watching from the walls.
Every corner whispered tales of power, policy, and pre-Independence Bengal - a time when decisions taken within these very walls shaped destinies far beyond them.
For budding journalists, it wasn’t just a heritage visit - it was a masterclass in context.
Because to report the present, one must understand the past.
From discussing colonial governance to reflecting on Bengal’s political evolution, the afternoon became a living archive - where history wasn’t read from textbooks but felt in the air.
And as they walked out, notebooks fuller and minds sharper, one thing was certain - sometimes, the most powerful newsroom is history itself.
Admission 2026 open at Brainware University – best private university in Kolkata. 98% placement, quality education. Seats are filling fast.
