heclan is real to me bc they hate each other bc they’re projecting their respective mummy and daddy issues onto each other but they are also the only people in their lives who understand the horrors of working in a magical black market as children and both are unhinged bc of it but no one sees past their facades of boring but charming and vaguely eccentric respectively and so they seek understanding in the other but can never fully step in bc their parents were generally terrible but especially at fostering any sense of vulnerability bc aforementioned black market with added bonus of super traumatizing kidnapping at the beginning of their relationship. honestly criminal that we get pretty much 0 interactions between them. like they should at least have been seen hate smoking together
