[  glance  ]  receiver  catches  sender  looking  at  them
glance - receiver catches sender looking at them
  saints, they are all tired.
he knows kuwei and matthias definitely are. the fjerdanâs fast - thinking is really the only thing that got them out of that tomb alive... and, well, his little grisha army. the kid didnât do too bad with those inferni powers, and jesper was at least grateful that his lack of training hadnât bitten them in the ass. they are alive, and so is inej, even though she had been bleeding earlier. wylan and kaz had returned from whatever outing they had; jesperâs mind is too befuddled by exhaustion to remember what exactly it entailed.Â
heâs sprawled across one of the couches of the suite. his clothes had been absolutely covered in soot before, and jesper turned his nose up at that, so he had switched it out for one of his fatherâs - it hangs loose and breezy on his frame, and that doesnât at all help with jesper near nodding off.
surprisingly, itâs quiet in the suite. almost like a lull in all the hellish antics theyâve been up to recently. he can feel wylan on the other end of the couch as he sits, and his head rolls briefly towards him. only then does jesper open his eyes, slits of grey barely visible through the long lashes.
wylanâs eyes are trained on him. he misses the blue of them.
( for a moment, with him staring at him like that, itâs easy to forget that theyâre being hunted. by the gangs, by the khergud, by ketterdam itself. )
â something on my face, wy? â he murmurs, rolling his shoulders. his words are soft and thick, accented with drowsiness as the events of the day catch up with him. a rare sight, really, seeing how jesper always seems to run on invisible, infinite energy. he shifts on the couch, slings one arm over the back as if to reach for wylan - then stops himself, last moment. he looks like he wants to lean into him. jesper doesnât. not quite yet.
