Hemeroscopium House, Madrid, Spain, Ensamble Studio
Huge pieces of concrete stack and balance with an uncanny lightness, kept in equilibrium by a 20 ton granite stone. Seven main elements form the enclosed space, and the glass and steel frames allow an easier transition into the horizon. The house took a year to engineer, though due to prefabricated parts and harmony of assembly, took only seven days to construct.

These architects out of Madrid are amazing. Love the Truffle and the Hemeroscopium (which they built for themselves).
Het Hemeroscopium House -ontworpen door Ensamble Studio- is alweer een paar jaar geleden gebouwd, maar het blijft een van de meest bizarre villa's die ik ooit op internet ben tegengekomen. De film geeft een uitleg hoe de constructie in elkaar zit. Het resultaat mag dan ook er zijn.
