Hematidrosis is a rare, but very real, medical condition that causes one’s sweat to contain blood. The sweat glands are surrounded by tiny blood vessels that can constrict and then dilate to the point of rupture, causing blood to effuse into the sweat glands. The cause of hematidrosis is extreme anguish. In the other gospel accounts, we see the level of Jesus’ anguish: “My soul is overwhelmed…

In the last hours before Jesus was arrested, he was suffering from extreme agony. Before Jesus came to Earth, he knew the suffering he would face in death. As the time got closure and closure,he began to break down. Which anyone would, but he did not break down like most.

He was not so much overcome by fear of the physical pain. While of course, it played a part. The worst part for him was he knew, when all the sins of the world was going to be placed on him, that is own father would have to look away from him. That is what broke him. 

The Bible states his agony was so great that his sweat was like blood:  

And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground. 

-Luke 22:44

Most people who read that, believe this is another "mystery of the bible". When in realty it is not. It is scientifically possible to sweat blood.
