Hey all! 

It’s been an age.  How’s the PG-13 over here? 

I have decided to come back, but I’m going to be fully transparent, I am not here for social calls.  I mean, feel free to say a friendly “Hallo”, but the reason I am back is to be around in case you’d like to hire me.

This year one of Mock’s big adventures is to have a go at a writing business.  If you follow me on AO3, you know I’ve been cranking out the chapters at a machine  rate.  I’ve always had an affluent muse, I pretty much don’t get writer’s block, and I just feel I have a lot to offer in terms of help for other writers. 

I watch a lot of writers and artists struggle, and I’ve helped a number of them bust out of their ruts and that makes me really happy.  I have a passion for it. 

I’d also like to create a *positive* community for writers who want to write what *they* want to write and draw what they want to draw free from the “tell you what to do” police out there. 

So yeah, these are just some of my ideas. I plan to write blogs based on this, and that’s all I’m going to post here -- stuff “on writing”.  Writing advice and tips, and even if you don’t write, but draw, you may want to follow; just general “Creative Therapy.”

I promise you, whoever is even going to read this and stick around for the rest to come: my intros will always be corny. Until, possibly, one day I get better at it. probably not lol. anyway,

I’m starting this blog to figure out what I lost a while back. just previously, I waved good-bye to the excess curiosity of my teenage years i had left. I’m 21, about to approach my 22nd year. What? Yeah, 22. I thought I just turned 21, too.

21 doesn’t even count or feel like being in your twenties.

Turning 21 and then realizing it ends is like winning Miss America or Miss Universe because of how you’re paraded until they find someone younger; better.

21 is the first year you realize people are younger than you. Not that you never noticed it before, but now here you are at a Buffalo Wild Wings on a Saturday night surrounded by encounters that seem all too familiar from a not so distant past. And you think, “Why do they look so young? Why are there so many here? How are they so unaware of themselves or surroundings?” These situations they speak of seem so dismal until it hits you all at once: you used to do the exact same thing. You used to go anywhere, somewhere to feel something in your life, talk about nothing really except to purposely try and make some sort of importance out of yourself at two a.m., sluggish. Like you wanted the moon’s approval and for her to notice you.

I wanted too much for my 21st year. I wanted to continue rising because there was never a time, prior to this one, where I just stopped working-in every sense of the word. I was used to having everything laid out in front of me and I knew how to play that game. I knew what I needed to score, what to say to whom, what to think and pretend to believe. Yeah. By the age of 19-20 I was a champion of that Child’s Play.

But 21 was different. It had every unimaginable thing you could expect. This was no longer an endless space. Now, it’s an uninviting forest. A forest that denies the sun from it’s own roots at times.

Being 21 is intoxicating. It makes everything deeper yet.

I’ve been trying to figure out Why it has taken me so long to learn German When I reach for a German saying I cough up blood I choke on my other roots asserting themselves My throat wasn’t made to brew these words It was made to bend To look down To think about what we’ve done I’ve been thinking about what they’ve done for far too long I have always spoke German I’ve just never known any of the words

The first time my grandmother told me about her mother She described her tombstone She told me which flowers she brought to her funeral She told me how to get to the cemetery where she was buried She always seemed so forbidden to me So forbidden there So forbidden here It was only when I first saw her picture that I realized It was probably because her heartbeat sounded like a folksong And she taught her how to say goodbye Auf wiedersehen Before thank you danke I’m so glad she was honest She told me of how Our ancestral tree grew from the branches They cut off How are roots were different How we should unbend our neck sometimes
