The image is a little hard to picture: The meeting of the “powers that be” in the NFL that decided which lucky celebrity would sing the National Anthem at the crucial and widely-watched AFC Championship Game.  With so many options and so much relevant talent to choose from, the decision seemed easy and almost obvious. So, we have to ask: Who the hell thought it would be a good idea to have Steven Tyler sing the National Anthem?

Steven Tyler is arguably the most influential vocalist and iconic figures in rock history. Sadly, these days he’s been pimping his his ass to the painfully dated and tragic American Idol.  Thus, he was clearly looking for publicity. However, the whole performance was a train wreck. He was off key the entire time, got several lines wrong and seemed blissfully oblivious as to what was going on. But perhaps the worst part about the performance was his Skeletor inspired look. Hell, even the crowd stunned and uncomfortable.
