“i woke up, & you were gone.”
send me emotional things // not accepting
in the quiet of everything, raleigh did not expect to hear something rouse from the dark, his eyes idle and unseeing into the vast dark that were the trees beyond the bureau. nightmares weren’t all that uncommon for him, they shared his bed every night, looming and wicked and eager to sink poisoned fangs deep into his thoughts at any given chance. sleeping beside red helped to mute them most days, but they were still there others. tonight was one especially unkind and wicked and he didn’t have heart to stay idle in bed and try to sleep again when they could simply claim him again. it was why he’d ended up here, curled up with a thin jacket around his shoulders upon the roof, staring out to the stars and the moon and letting his body just be quiet.
“I’m sorry,” the apology was sincere despite the lack of tone in his voice, wrought too much with horrors for the night he was keen on keeping any emotion from his body. nothing really shook him from his idle thoughts until red was there and he leaned into his warmth, leeched it into his own chilled body. “it was just a nightmare, i’m alright.” the hand curled against his pulled his eyes from the line of trees and he looked to red’s face and that stoic look on his face, a crack in it that might show perhaps he was concerned, but red was never good with expressing his emotions. the same as raleigh had grown wary of sharing his own. “i’m fine, just wanted to come up here and watch the sunrise is all.”
