if short form video social media is the opiate of the masses i'd like to imagine tumblr is methadone but i suspect it's more like picking up a long abandoned coke habit for me

Tumblr can be so lonely sometimes.
Expressing personality and connection on this webbed site requires effort that does not fit into the rapid pace of the current internet environment.
Often posts will be sent into the ether. If swept into the waves of the cyber sea then it'll return likes and reblogs. Some may even have little tags attached.
Meaningful replies and engagement are uncommon. An attribute offered on exceedingly rare occasions. If one is lucky then an interaction and addition may cement. Often the interactions are swept by the tide, though.
We enjoy the site for preservation. How posts from a decade prior remain alive. That the lifeblood is creating an external sense of culture. Small pools that have collective identity.
That is a beautiful thing. It serves as an alternate to endless DMs and chatrooms that have no intrinsic value but reward a sense of connection between the people involved.
It makes the effort feel worth it.
It remains our favourite social media.
But it can be lonely at times.
I did it. I hypnotized staff and saved Tumblr. Sunk cost fallacy is too strong. I can't let this place fall to ruin.
Still working on the bigotry stuff. It's just easier to brainwash the overworked and underpaid coding team. I didn't even have to convince them they were getting very sleepy. Just pointed out the fact.
The internet spends all day trying to Pavlov people into flattened down and broad appeal posts to get Maximum Engagement
You can take our nuance from our cold dead hands! We're gonna be off-putting and alienating to the last!
The bullshit thing about santizing the net is that it's like purely for the purpose of adverts. Like Coke don't want their brand associated with tits or whatever.
Thing is, if I wanted to be on an advertizer friendly website I wouldn't be on fucking Tumblr, would I?

Excuse you???
What is tumblr even for if not to write my little 2 cents in the tags
Does anyone know of any tools for "likes" that would make sorting them or searching them by tags possible?
Like, if could filter my likes by a tag, or by an artist, or by a character, I keep thinking I could get through my backlog SO much more efficiently (because I could do a lot via copy-and-paste in big chunks).
I've looked through XKit and don't see anything in it related to that. If anyone has a resource with that functionality, I'd love to hear about it.
