I asked my friend why humans are better at killing one another than they are at saving one another.
He theorized, "In nature, there is nothing is born to specifically hunt humans as its primary prey. Therefore, nature balances that imbalance by giving human's a natural instinct to kill one another instead. The natural predator of humans, are humans, weather, and disease. Everything else is circumstance." I replied with, "so the true nature of humans is to wipe ourselves out?" He said, "Basically yes... Until something is done to tip the scales from evil, of which they heavily weigh, nothing will change; and the destination remains the same."
And now I can't stop thinking about that theory. (No this is not an AI conversation. Kinda sucks we have to add that to any post now.) This is why Alucard from Hellsing Ultimate's quote hits hard: "We ruin the countries we govern and the people in our care. We slaughter our enemies, and sacrifice all our allies. We'll keep killing till there's nothing left but to destroy ourselves. It will never be enough."
