hi.... yes its that anon again......... cg alucard has been heavy on the mind(tbh it always is for me), could you do 7 and 14 from your ask game pls?
Ah yes, hello again! Now, 7 and 14 are technically a random headcanon for a character as a regressor and a random headcanon for a character as a cg, but seeing as how you've requested Alucard as a cg both times now, I'm going to assume you would like two random cg headcanons? If this is incorrect, do let me know and I will fix it! Anyhow, onto the headcanons! 🌙
14) Random Headcanon!
He is very much the caregiver that wants to shield their little one from all harm, and moreover he has the power to do so. Alucard had his own fair share of childhood trauma, and doesn't want his baby experiencing even a fraction of upset if he can help it. Pity on the poor soul who so much as looks at them the wrong way, because Alucard will ensure that it never happens again.
14) Random Headcanon!
Alucard is the type of cg that narrates what his little one is doing. Adding epic commentary to their pretend play? Of course. Giving a play by play on their refusal to pick up their toys? It certainly makes the whole thing easier and often gets them moving. Not to mention that his little one gets infinitely amused by their papa adding his theatrics to their life.
hi!! i saw that your ask game is still open, could you do alucard(hellsing) for number 9 and/or 13? ty!!
Ah yes, my ask game! Open always and forever, and even at the end of time it shall remain open. And I think we can handle answering both of these for you, dear anon. It isn't often that I get to talk about Hellsing, after all! (In fact, I've only really gotten to do the one big post for it awhile back, which may or may not be rtyi.) 🌙
9) How do they help them handle big emotions?
Alucard is no stranger to big emotions himself, and so he understands that there needs to be an outlet. He won't dissuade his little one from a good cry and won't try to make them quiet down any excessive joy either no matter how loud they are being, but also? Sometimes big emotions are angry. Which means it's time for pillows. Whether they just need to shout into it to feel better or to smack it around doesn't matter, so long as they are safely venting their frustration.
13) Favorite game to play with their little one?
He definitely leans more towards old-fashioned children's games, or ones that require them to engage in pretend play. If he had to pick just one however, Alucard favors hide-and-seek. He always, always wins (and is not about to let up either, if his baby wants a win they've got to try harder). Usually the game ends with him sneaking up on them—an ambush attack from the tickle monster that lurks in the shadows.
Regressor!Alucard Headcanons
Regression is something that Alucard had been experiencing for centuries without having a name to put to it. Always in short snatches, never too long for it to fully take hold but rather small moments where everything felt so much bigger than him, where being an immortal monster didn't leave him feeling insurmountable so much as it left him feeling lonely. It isn't until he hears Arthur comment on his belief that deep down all vampires are nothing more than crying children does something truly click into place. But he suppresses it, pushes it aside, because that's not what he's needed for. And in his own opinion, it isn't something he deserves either. No matter if it was true, he has done too much to ever be so innocent again, he thinks.
Things are different after Integra wakes him up though. He sees a bit of himself in her as the years go by—a child forced to grow up much too fast due to unfortunate and unfair circumstances. And maybe that's why he's more playful with this master than the last. They can hang onto that small piece of innocence together; while he may not deserve it, Integra most certainly does. It isn't as if anyone will notice the slight change in his demeanor from the last time he was active anyway. Save except for Walter, who only gives him a curious once-over during those moments when he finds himself teetering on the edge of feeling so small, seemingly having drawn his own conclusions. And yet Alucard still does not give into the comforting haze that far too often threatens to overtake him.
But things are vastly different after the invasion of London. After the betrayal of Walter, after Anderson's death. After Alucard had been gone for thirty years. There had been so much to process, and yet no time to do so during or after, as his fight had carried on inside himself for three decades in order to destroy all the souls contained within him (all three million, four hundred twenty-four thousand, eight hundred sixty-seven souls to be exact). And while he tries to act like everything is fine and they can all go back to business as usual, for Integra and Seras' sake, there's still that pressing feeling of small encroaching on his mind. But he can't ignore it, not anymore. He's small, smaller than he's been in over five centuries. Maybe because he's finally had enough, or maybe because the only soul contained within him is his own now.
It's easier than expected when he finally allows himself to sink down, to be as small as he needs; it's a relief in a way, because it's been a long time coming. He hardly notices when it happens—occurring the evening following his return, when the three are catching up. In the privacy of Integra's office, with the two people most dear to him so close by. It's the safest he's felt in awhile, and he finds himself returning to a point in his life when he last felt so safe (and that point was very very early in his childhood). If it wasn't apparent by the way he carried himself, it was blatantly obvious when he spoke. Sounding so unlike himself—no longer self-assured and grandiose, but timid, words lisping slightly as he starts apologizing for taking so long as he starts to cry. And while Seras might be a bit confused about what's happening, Integra isn't. She has always been pretty well-read, and by this point in her life she's been around long enough to have picked up a few things, including enough knowledge about regression to recognize it. (And, like all eventualities, she handles it expertly and with a focused plan of attack.)
Alucard allows Integra to take control of the situation, although with some hesitance. It isn't as if he can take back being so little, not after hiding it for so long, but he's always been on the opposite end of things as a mentor figure for them each at some point. Now that the roles are reversed, he isn't sure what to do or even how to accept their help. But one thing is clear: they have a very little boy on their hands who is looking for someone to care about him, to take care of him, just once. Integra and Seras are more than willing to step up, and together make a complete cg unit. It's not that Alucard requires two carers by any means—being well-behaved for the most part, save for the occasional emotional outburst when things get too big for him to handle—but rather that the two have complimentary caring styles and he benefits from both. While Integra takes a more distanced approach (in part influenced by her own upbringing and by Alucard's newfound shyness around her), Seras takes a more hands-on approach and gets emotionally invested.
One thing that is fairly common in the early days of accepting his regression is shape-shifting. He's taken a lot of different forms over the years, each a different reflection of himself, and so it really shouldn't be so surprising when he involuntarily shifts to match his mindset—looking for all the world like a child no older than two or three. There's no guesswork for them on whether or not Alucard is regressing when 'Babycard' shows up, tugging on Seras' hand with a small pout and a clear command in his eyes. Yes, for as temporally displaced the toddler is, the command of uppies hasn't really changed much throughout history, and so she is quick to realize what it is he wants. Although Seras is just generally in tune with what it is he needs, their connection as fledgling and sire providing an almost sixth sense into what the other is thinking or feeling certainly helps figure out the things that do get lost in translation.
As he gets more comfortable being seen regressing however, the shape-shifting occurs less frequently. Especially given that Integra encourages him to indulge in small time, between assignments of course (as she is ever the professional). Though he still sticks to their private rooms when doing so, none too keen on the rebuilt Hellsing organization finding out their secret weapon can be so vulnerable. So human when all is said and done. This softer side of him is reserved for their little family, after all.
havent posted anything of my own yet, but heres my dadcard pinterest board!! needs some reorganizing here and there, but its very comforting to me B)
