Tonight we had a special noir session in our tabletop RPG. Every time the players did a noir thing, like shadow a perp back to their house, or go to bed with the tragic ingenue, I gave them a Bon Mot point. Bon Mot points could be redeemed in the final climactic shootout for John Woo-style bullet time, where they got 5 bonus dice to spend on any action they could complete while diving through the air.

38. do you reread your own stories? I do--if I remember being happy with a certain aspect of a previous fic, and I’m trying to put something similar in a current project, I’ll definitely go back and re-read.
44. do you write linear or do you write future scenes if you feel like it?Mostly I write linear. I think possibly I should write future scenes, because I’ll definitely think about them, and have a cool idea in my head about how they should be, and then when I finally reach that point I’ll have lost it somewhat.
