𝐚𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 ,  of thine father ,  sparda ,  as were the desperate desires of one so very power hungry.  a painful legacy of survival and suffering ,  fortunately ,  not inherited by the manifestation of his humanity ,  the very same that lingered in the depths of thine heart.  (  vergil ,  how you continue to allow my existence ?  to watch over nero as you and your brother forever entangle yourselves in the depths of hell and demons galore ?  )  v ,  he knows his existence is merely temporary ,  not the same as before but existence still limited nonetheless ,  yet  ...  he’s decided to search for individuality.  as insisted by nero.  a son so very unlike his father. 

individuality ,  unfortunately ,  came with a price.  his attention divided ,  devil may cry’s list of clients increasing in numbers.  though ... his mind shifts focus elsewhere. namely towards the silhouette in the corner of the room ,  lounging ‘pon a leather couch  (  of which could only be described as tacky ,  as was dante’s taste.  )  fingers pinch the bridge of his nose ,  a migraine.  ❛   anakin ,   ❜   stern voice ,  ❛   as much as i enjoy your presence here ,  it would do you well to remember your very name is on this list.  your lack of concern for your exposure unnerves me.   ❜   how his scolds can be so loving.  and he rises from the desk thereafter.  (   take note  :  the picture of eva still facing upright ,  even if he must rid his mind of the haunting thoughts of a mother who will no longer be consider his own.  his gazes flickers passed the image.  )  delicate hand finally finding its rightful place upon his beloved’s jawline after he’s crossed the room , wooden floors supplementing for background noise.  he begins tilting anakin’s features upward ,  if only to say  ( look at me.   )   ❛    i envy your carelessness.    ❜   a jest , then a sigh of resignation.   ❛   if i indulge your request ,  what then?   ❜

❛   i have nothing to worry about when i know it will be you that pays me a visit.   ❜     perhaps he should be more grateful for their interference, show his continued appreciation. v is always a step ahead of the rest, and his efforts are briskly rewarded with a shared night together, joining as one, and an uncharacteristic intermission from his antics—at least, so it is written across his particular listing, for a little while.

          Power was drawn to power, after all. Tempting vestiges spiraled from their source to entice weaker prey—a near-guarantee of sustenance for the likes of powerful entities who no longer needed to expend the effort to hunt for food, though it was a trick known by a rare few, and employed by even fewer. It was curiosity more than hunger that drew this demon close, venturing to discover who, or what, would even idly draw forth such energies in the human world. It may not even be a demon, some vague voice at the back of his mind wondered, or if it was, it was concealing its presence well enough.

          The adoption of a physical, human form was an unnecessary risk to take in the human world for many demons, yet still he took on a handsome young visage as he approached. Cloaked both in black fabrics and sprawling dark curls, the pallor of his skin stood out even more starkly in the low light, and framed a pair of dark eyes sharpened with focus. It was certain by then that this being before him was no simple demon at all, tinged as he was with demonic power, though the newcomer’s gait was still one of nonchalance in spite of the careful distance he maintained.

adrian pauses their search through dirt and rubble to turn towards the voice,  heaving a sigh,  shifting from hands and knees to sit with a thud.   they aren’t exactly the sharing type when it comes to personal matters but,  given the circumstances,  it’s not as though sharing could make things any worse than they already are.   and v is hardly the worst person to confide in.
