🍉 themed crop top/bralette is doneeeee - minus all the ends that need to be woven in 🙈 Much better use of the yarn than sitting for over a year in my sad #wip pile Pattern is @girlyknits bra top, link to it can be found on @hi.ravelry

Here is my Bottoms Up Bralette, the next step from experimenting with how a top is constructed! All in all, the fit on this one turned out much better than the top down version I made, and the bottoms up construction made it a lot less frustrating to organize pieces. I tried something different with my increases (best seen in the last two pics), which while I have mixed feelings about, I do think it came out well.
My one, very minor gripe, is that I underestimated how much the maximum stretch of my swatch was, so its still a tiny bit loose, but the next iteration should hopefully have that taken care of!
Yarn is plankandstella’s Funky Cold Patina. The colors are most accurate on the last two pics 😊

Ready for another #tbt ? Introducing my Faun's Eye Cardigan that I started.... ah..... well... January 17, 2018..... The last notes I have from it are from 8/18/18, but I definitely "completed it" shortly thereafter, minus weaving in the ends. It hung out in #wip purgatory for a while because I couldn't decide if I wanted to give it sleeves that matched the collar. This project was designed entirely by me, and was inspired by the character Allura from VLD. Such a shame that the show was canceled before coming to a satisfying conclusion. I guess VLD will hang out with the Percy Jackson, Avatar TLA, Eragon, and Artemis Fowl movies that were never ever ever made.

I didn't post much in 2019 since life was a bit busy, but that doesn't mean I wasn't crafting then. This is one of the tops that I made and designed (and frogged, and remade, and frogged, and remade again 🐸🐸🐸). It turned out to be an experiment that I learned a lot from. I had wanted to try my hand at making a top, but didn't really know where to start. This ended up being a top down piece, with each cup and the upper back worked flat separately and then joined in the round later for the bodice. A large part of the frustration and remakes were due to me not knowing how to properly size the pattern (still working on that honestly), as well as not properly swatching to make sure I was on track. But, because of this project, I learned about making uniform leaning increases and decreases in knitting, using charts to track the pattern instead of written notes, AND (probably most importantly) that I've been doing twisted purls since I started knitting 🤦♀️I've since corrected that in my knitting, but its very visible in comparing the flat parts to the in the round components. According to my notes, I started this on 6/14 and "finished" on 9/29. I've been experimenting lately with a bottom to top version lately, and this will like be redone a 4th time in the near future. Looking forward to making that glow up!
