. @stenachoriiaâ and I plotted a thing. The emotions in the room swirled around her, the entire building gave her the worst vibes. And honestly, she didnât exactly enjoy being in it. And the older woman in front of her gave off not so pleasant vibes. Elizabeth could tell that she was there to serve as a means to an end. As was everyone else who had ever entered this building. She definitely didnât like that. Still, she stood at ease, fingers fidgeting behind her back as she faced the woman at the desk. The white flowing pieces of her hero uniform fluttering in the breeze brought about by a floor vent not only a few feet away. She felt anxious. That was her own feeling. As the woman stared her down as if to assess if her presence was really required. As if to question if sheâd been sent the proper hero for the job she needed done. And she was so tempted to say something. But kept her mouth shut more so out of fear of being a further disappointment to this womanâs expectations.Â
She continued to watch her, those same edge of disappointment swirling around her, around them. âCan you please stop sizing me up like Iâm some sort of disappointment, maâam? I assure you that my presence is not a mistake and I am highly qualified to fill your needs.â She kept her tone soft, polite and less frustrated that she wanted to. Sheâd rather avoid creating trouble for the woman who was pretty much her boss now. The woman quirked up a brow at that. The President of the Hero Public Safety Commission was no woman to scoff at. She held most of the power over the entirity of Japanâs hero society--- And fuck that was intimidating. âAlright. But that still remains to be seen, Swansong. Prove yourself to me, and my opinion might change. Consider it motivation.â The older woman said, âHawks should be joining us momentarily, youâll be paired with him for the duration of your assignment here.â At the womanâs words, something new edged itâs way into her senses. And she found herself dropping her hands to her sides and turning briefly towards the door.Â
